I get the optimistic thing I feel like I generally lean that way especially in the offseason. I just don't get how anything that has happened so far can get anyone excited. Hendrickson got permission for a trade and nothing has materialized yet. We've done nothing to add to the pass rush if he does leave. The OL is worse and while I'm optimistic we sign someone it hasn't happened yet. Gesicki and Hill I mean i like them both but not sure it's budging my excitement meter for the time being. Oh and we haven't signed either of our 2 receivers. I get again that it should happen but it hasn't yet and that doesn't give us much clarity as to what we can expect in signings due to the cap.

Yes on the one hand it is super early and I knew I would most likely be upset before FA. But on the other hand after the draft is too late. There is absolutely zero chance we have some very real holes after the draft and this team does anything about it.

Same guys got hot at the end of the year and went on a nice little win streak.

This wasn’t a rebuild. We kept the core intact and continue to add. Had we figured out how to win just one of those winnable games at the beginning of the year last year we are talking about another playoff appearance.

Hubbard and Cappa no longer here is probably going to be an addition by subtraction deal.

The sky is not falling.

Hey Chicken Little, the sky is not falling.  Also a lot of what you said is not true.  The D Line just got what it needed, the Big Man DT run stopper from Packers, and the Super Bowl Eagles LB who made a lot of tackles in domination over Chiefs.  Perine is back as a RB.  Gesicki is staying as a TE.  They re-signed some D Line and O Line.   They will sign Chase to go with Burrow long term.  They even want to sign Higgins long term.  They brought in Golden to fix the Defense.   They have Chase Brown and Iosivas.  Mosty they have JOE BURROW.   Not only is the sky not falling, but they are reaching for the sky on back to Super Bowl.

As another mentioned, I'm not boycotting anything at this point. The fact that the team has managed to fill roster spots, while still working a hot stove of 3 major stars needing deals done, is actually pretty impressive for the Bengals. I'll wait until the soup is done, before I decide how it tastes.

Still, they should have accomplished something with at least one of their big three looking for new contracts.

It was always going to be a bad free agency because of the cap rising and a lack of quality players in this class. So many players just stayed with their teams instead of testing the market.

Unfortunately, this team doesn't make trade and are not aggressive in nature to make up for it.

What's more concerning is they are tone deaf in addressing thier team needs. Particularly on both lines to not have a starting guard or a pass rushing DT is insane at this point. They are putting a lot of eggs into the Draft basket at this point.

Not to mention the lack of big three signing or trades.

It definitely needs to add at the middle and lower ends as well.

They do not deserve our financial support. If they don't want to get with the times and do what is necessary to compete than they need to sell the ******* team!

They add Scherff and Zietler, it would be a good offseason. They need to settle with the big 3, but free agency is just starting

Gotta role over cap.

You know, for all the extensions they have failed to do.

Obi Wan once thought as you do.  So did I.  I went years not going to games or buying any merchandise.  Didn’t really regret it either as I was so opposed to how ebenezer ran the team.  I feel your frustration as if there was a time for them to push their chips all in go for it, burrow’s window seems as good as any.  So I will just wait and see how this plays out.  And watch from home like I normally do.

I agree with this. You sign a couple of these last guards that actually improve you oline on paper and make it work with the big 3 this is a stellar offseason and we set ourselves up very well for the draft. But if you don't sign any guards or just one that is at the level of what we have currently and don't add anymore pass rush in what is a rapidly disappearing market than it's a disaster. Makes it tough waiting to find out which one the Bengals are going to deliver.

Anyone else seen this thread a few times over the years since the internet came about? lol

Anyways boycotting them won't work. The Family makes more than 5 times from the rest of NFL than what they do on their own. Or something in that ball park.

This year will be different. Ok. Why do you get excited when the defense will be even worse. Sone of you are happy about re-signing a guy that ruined the opportunity at another Super Bowl. Let’s go!!!

I’ve bought some over the past few years.  Lots of UC stuff to.  I can overlook the other half of your wardrobe, you’re alright in my book.
