If the Bengals were interested in trading Tee, they could ask for New England's 2nd and one of their 3rd round picks but that seems pretty steep to me.  Their first 3rd round pick is the 5th pick in the 3rd round.  Their second pick in the 3rd round is the 13th pick of the 3rd round.  Maybe they could get New England's second 3rd round pick.  That would give the Bengals the #38 and #77 picks of the draft for Higgins.  If you use draft trade charts that would be 520 points for the 2nd round pick and 205 points for the 3rd round pick for 725 total points.  That would be equal to about the #25 pick in the draft

That's between the 8th and 9th overall pick in trade value going to us. Nobody would give a top-10 pick for Tee, and nobody would consider that fair.

Pats are desperate for a number 1 WR and their is no WR in this draft on Tee's level....teams overpay all the time.

If Bengals, why would they trade Tee for a 3rd or 4th second pick in the draft. Bengals used the 33rd pick (1st pick in 2nd round) on Tee and he has not disappointed.

If Pats want him, they need to give us the 4th pick in the draft.

In 2023 the Texans traded up to the 3rd pick (they also got the 105th pick), and it cost them the 12th pick, the 33rd pick, AND 2024 1st and 3rd round picks.

Im not sure what point you are trying to make.  Nothing is preventing Tee from negotiating with other teams.  Nothing is preventing Tee from signing an offer with another team.  The Bengals have no say in that.  However, If that other team doesnt want to give up 2 first round draft picks to sign Tee, they will need to negotiate with the Bengals for something less.  Just because Tee hasnt signed the franchise tender, doesnt mean the Bengals cant negotiate with that team.  In the Bengals case they could tell New England, either give us the #4 pick in the draft or we arent trading him regardless if Tee has signed the franchise tender or not.   Tee cant go anywhere without the Bengals allowing it to happen.

Most sites have him closer to #10 than #3, but OK they should draft him with the 4th pick if they feel he is a top 5 pick. 

Many experts don't feel he is a top 15 and sure pick to be very good.

He will also be a lot cheaper than Tee.   Will he be as good as a rookie?

Yes I am well aware that nothing is preventing Higgins from taking offers from other teams and signing an offer with said team if Bengals refuse to match the offer.  In which case the Bengals would received two first round draft picks.  I've explained that in other threads several times when that was brought up.  What I'm saying is the Bengals can't trade Higgins right now because he hasn't signed his tender and is technically not under contract.  What I added is I'm not even sure if the Bengals are allowed to enter into trade negotiations for Higgins right now because he can't legally be traded until he signs his tender.  You will note I did say that perhaps they could be having some behind the scenes discussion about a sign and trade.

Well of course Higgins cant be traded since he isnt under contract.  My point earlier was if he agreed to a deal with New England, the Bengals could agree to a deal with New England to a lesser compensation than 2 1st round draft picks.  Would Tee first need to sign with the Bengals then the Bengals trade Tee or would the Bengals simply need to agree to a deal with Tee's new team and transfer Tee's rights to New England since Tee would be signing with the Patriots?  I dont know the exact method this happens but at some point the Bengals would have to be able to negotiate a deal without Tee being under contract.   It wouldnt make much sense if a tagged player like Higgins wanted to sign to another team but the Bengals wouldnt be able to negotiate with that team until Higgins was signed.  That would be forcing the player to sign the franchise tag before any negotiations could be done which would only hurt the player.

I would expect we’d trade him for the Pats early second round pick. If Higgins didn’t miss games every year that would be stupid but his hamstring issues pop up. Of course the Burton issue looms large.

It is steep.  It should be.  The market for legit number 1 wrs is bone dry right now.  

I don't think he's going anywhere.
