I keep seeing Curtis' name coming up. He was as much, if not more, athletically talented than most but he just didn't really put up even pro bowl numbers for any more than the first 3rd of his career. I like the guy and talk to him every now and then when he comes in our shop. Sure he was fast and sure he got a rule changed but he wasn't really on par with his peers other than his rookie and 3rd years when he finished 5th and 2nd in yards. Other than that, he ranks among his peers, year to year - 13, 13, injured (8 games), 23, 44, 48, 48, injured (9 games), 51. His last year ('84) he started 13 games and had 135 yards on the season. Ja'Marr will pass him in receptions very early this year, likely pass him in TDs this year and pass him in yards some time next year. Currently, Chad is the best WR in Bengals history and he only holds that for a few more years till Ja'Marr passes him as #1. AJ would be right behind them and then you have Curtis, Pickens, Collinsworth and Brown in any particular order though many of them had relatively short careers as far as WRs go. Then Boyd, Housh and Scott are right behind them. At his current pace, Tee is going to put himself inbetween the AJ/Chad coversation and if he's able to stay healthy, challenge Chad for #2. That's my story and i'm sticking to it. ![]() "The measure of a man's intelligence can be seen in the length of his argument."

Right now I would put Chad at #1 and Ja'Marr at #2 but I do think Ja'Marr will take over the #1 spot by the time his career is done.

The most talented Bengals WR ever is Ja'Marr Chase. For "greatest", I will operate with the full body of production relative to era (this is just off the top of my head).
1. Chad Johnson 2. Isaac Curtis 3. AJ Green 4. Ja'Marr Chase 5. Carl Pickens 6. TJ Houshmandzadeh 7. Cris Collinsworth 8. Eddie Brown 9. Tee Higgins 10. Tim McGee 11. Darnay Scott 12. Tyler Boyd 13. Chip Meyers 14. Peter Warrick 15. Marvin Jones I might be willing to move Chase to the top very soon (perhaps even within the next season). At this point it's just a formality as long as he stays healthy. He'll need more time to match Chad's counting statistics, but his peak is already better. He just needs to sustain it a bit.

Jamar Chase. End of discussion.
He has a chance to be the best WR of all time. ![]() The boys are just talkin' ball, babyyyy

Chase
Chad AJ If AJ was able to continue his first 5 years for his last 5 years, he would've been the best even ahead of Chase at this point. But injuries and fall off, hurt him. Chad still has the team records, but by the time Chase retires/leaves us, barring catastrophic injury(ies), he will lead every single category.

Chad still my #1...
Chase has some big seasons but we definitely aren't a balanced team anymore. very pass heavy But Chase will likely retire with all the records hopefully

It would have been nice if an 8-8 Blake team had gotten a bounce or two and snagged a WC spot. (03-30-2025, 08:57 PM)sandwedge Wrote: Nobody could defend him on a go route! Child please….. It’s Isaac Curtis. The NFL changed the rules because of him.
