Yeah those players are under team friendly contract for now. Everyone in the world wants Chase signed long term. The longer we wait the more the price goes up. Same goes for the other guys. Unless Trey gets a new contract, I highly doubt he’s playing this year. Yes we have the cap space as mentioned, what are we going to do to improve the team? I obviously can’t predict the future and I’m not upset over what’s to come in FA. But I’ve seen this movie before. The most likely scenario is a major let down. We have 50 years of data to support that, other than a few recent good signings. More recent data of FT Tee again, no deal for Chase, and our best defensive planet wants a new contract or being traded. And bengals said yeah go ahead and seek a trade. SO FAR THAT IS A COMPLETE FAILURE. if we had a better track record I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Prove me wrong bengals. Please!

Maybe ***** and moan if all of the crap you fear happening actually happens. Fans and the players want that contract quickly. The third is the team, in reality they are trying to fnd new members for the team. They 3 you are worried about will play in 2025. Tee is not going to walk away from over 2 million per game to prove a point. He may sit out preseason and get fined by the team, but no way he walks away from a weekly 2 million dollar + check. ![]()

Nice, was watching Oren on the Eagles last year and in the Playoffs and the Super Bowl. Thought he would be a great one to add if he was going to be available as he was behind some really good Linebackers and came in when injury happened and played great as the grades show. Surprised we got him for that cheap. Ciao Pratt, hello Oren Burks. ![]()

I would love him on a 1 or 2 year deal. Some fans do not realize every action can also create a reaction. Packers sign and spend big on a FA CB, then cut/trade the guy he replaced. That is why until all the moves are done in late August, it is impossible to determine failure or success of off season.

Could just be depth but yeah I could see him compete with a mid round rookie. The Pratt savings could go toward actually landing a 2nd guard rather than just one. Let's Ford actually be a 6th man and opens up the draft.

Trey will play without a new contract, because otherwise he starts next year all over in the same place with the Bengals. But he could play only about half the season to get credit for a year's service and become a free agent next year. The old CBA stated a player had to play at least 6 games (which means be back a few weeks before to get ready) to get a year's service time. I don't know what the new CBA is, with the 17-game season. And Trey certainly could do a hold-in for the preseason like Chase did. In fact, I would be surprised if he didn't at least do a hold-in. He just made All-Pro and was second in defensive player of the year voting; he would command a lot on the open market.

That could have been because of injury but likely because they wanted a veteran guy. Because of his injury history the Bengals could be win/win for both of them. Bengals get a solid vet on a cheaper deal & Alexander sees more of a rotation like they did with Awuzie in 2023. ![]() |
