Gone In 60 Seconds Questions
#1
At the end, Cage is driving back to the boat with the 50th car, and Raymond C calls Attley and says how there's one less car than needed, and RC says he skipped town. Then, RC says "then big brother takes the fall, it never rains but it pours."

How did he know that Cage was driving to the ship in Elainor?

This is what ChatGPT says:

Great observation — that scene in Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) is a bit of a subtle one, and you’re catching an important point about how Raymond Calitri (RC) seems to know Memphis (Nicolas Cage) is still driving Eleanor to the ship even after it appears he skipped town.

Here’s the most likely explanation, based on how the movie sets things up:

1. Surveillance and Informants

Calitri is established as a very meticulous and connected criminal. He likely had:
• Eyes on the warehouse/shipyard, or
• People watching key points in the city, especially given how important this delivery was.

It’s implied he’s got a network and he’s keeping close tabs on the crew and the drop — meaning someone spotted Memphis en route, or Calitri’s men saw Eleanor being driven in that direction and relayed the info quickly.

2. Timing and Confidence

The call to Atley is RC’s power move — he’s trying to scare and manipulate. When he says, “Then big brother takes the fall,” he’s trying to force Atley to betray Kip.

But the phrase “It never rains but it pours” suggests he just got new info — either:
• A lookout saw Eleanor, or
• He just guessed correctly that Memphis would still come through (which fits his character — arrogant and assuming he controls the board).

TL;DR:

RC likely had lookouts or radio contact with someone who saw Memphis on the way. It’s not explicitly shown, but the movie strongly suggests he had real-time surveillance and was taunting Atley with that info.

Wasn't long at all (that's what she said lol)

Thanks for the find!

That does make sense. I was just thinking of RC as a foreign dude without many ties that wouldn't have lookouts or anything, but then I didn't even think about that he was a local guy now and wasn't leaving with the ship.

In the beginning, when Cage asks him who the job was for, Attley says "new guy, named............."

That does make it sound like he's established and would have eyes and surveillance around the city when he says "he's running all the dark ponies down there." (I think he says dark ponies?)
