My Predictive 2025 Mock Draft
#1
This is my predictive mock draft based on historic trends the Bengals have shown.

1st round Mykel Williams - Edge - Georgia

Based on age, recruitment grade, big school program, championship-winning team, and athletic measurables. I'm not a fan of the pick, but i can see the upside and you're banking on him starating as a rotational player who takes over for Trey in a couple of years.

2nd round TreVeyon Henderson - Running Back - Ohio State

They have shown a lot of interest in this class, big school program, championship winning team. He is an ELITE pass blocking running back. I think there will be a run on guards and tackles in the early 2nd and they will see the value for a 2nd round player.

3rd round TJ Sanders - DT - South Carolina

Good athletic upside, they tend to draft defensive tackles in the 3rd - 4th round historically, had a visit with the team. Reports are he was extreme immature when he entered the program then developed and matured into a leader during his time in college.

4th round Jalen Rivers - OG / OT - Miami

High character guy with strong athletic profile and measurables. had a 30 visit with the team. The goal is to put him at LG and hope he develops into the future left tackle. Solid Starter

This is simply a symptom of the 2nd round run on offensive lineman before the bengals pick, so their forced into a 4th round guard, which is nothing new for them

5th round Jack Kiser - LB - Notre Dame

Al Golden coached him, he's a slightly better version of Joe Bachie and we all know how much Al Golden loved Joe Bachie. Key special teams player and competes for the starting middle linebacker

6th round Zah Frazier - CB - UTSA

Bump and run corner, high upside with great athletic profile. If he develops, could be the steal of the draft

I get that this is what you think Bengals could or would do based on historic trends, but I would really only care for 1 early pick if this were the case.
The only pick I truly like is TJ Sanders.
I'd be ok with the Day 3 picks I guess, but Jalen Rivers' athleticism isn't overly high as a Guard, but it isn't bad either (7.9 RAS when comparing as a Guard).

I think many would cry if Bengals take a RB on Day 2 and wait to take an OL on Day 3.

I have my doubts the Bengals would utilize Henderson enough in a RBBC with Brown, and I don't have high hopes for a green edge rusher to succeed with this coaching staff, even with the new faces.
I see NFL.com compares Williams to Greg Rousseau, and that might be the production we end up seeing from Williams in the NFL.
Anywhere from 4-8 sacks a season.
This has been what Rousseau has been putting up each season for 4 years.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

LOL, you're speaking to the choir. I'm not a big fan of this draft, but this isn't what I want; it's what I think the Bengals may do.  I will work on what I would do tomorrow so you can critique that and don't worry Williams won't be anywhere near my list

So you are predicting that they are going to disappoint us?
Sounds about right - this mock is probably going to be very accurate!

I like a RB pick.  It's just a matter of where/what round to spend it.

Don't like the first pick obviously, would rather go with a better pass rusher that isn't coming off of injury. Seems real early for a RB
but obviously I like Henderson, great pass protector and overall blocker while being a grinding RB to take a lot of snaps and be very
productive even as a rookie. Like the TJ Sanders pick okay, I like the Rivers pick a lot, but hope we take a Guard earlier than this.

Overall I guess I could live with it. Very realistic and would be a bit disappointing.

Good job Okeana, I know it isn't what you would do so not going to judge it too harshly with the first pick. Should be lots of talent
there at 17 to be had, one of the Safeties, DL, maybe Tyler Warren as BPA etc.
