The bfirst Mock

Time to get into the draft swing and I'll start it off with the first bfine mock of the new board.

RD 1- ANDREW BILLINGS/DT/Baylor (6’2”/310)

Billings broke Mark Henry’s “The Strongest man that ever lived” High School combined power-lift record: 500 bench, 805 squat, 705 dead.  The power we need at the point of attack in the run game. Although slowed by an ankle injury this year Geno v2 still managed 37 tackles, 14 TFL, and 5.5 sacks

RD 2- PHAROH COOPER/WR/So. Caro. (5’11’/ 207)

Has the build and game of a Randall Cobb. Pharoh contributes in receiving, rushing, and returning. We lose one of our top 3 WRs this off season and my money is on it being Sanu. Pharoh is a shifty slot receiver that has great speed

RD 3 – WILLIAM LIKELY/CB/Mary. (5’7”/176)

Likely is a Pacman clone. A shorter, stout DB with blazing speed and dynamic return skills. We are set at boundary CB with Dre, Double D, and Shaw. What we need is a smaller, shifty DB that can cover the likes of Antonio Brown.
 
RD 4 – DEVONTE FIELDS/ Edge/ UL (6’4”/245)

Fields has had a long journey making his way to the NFL. Started out at TCU, where he earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors. Was dismissed after assault charges, and went JUCO where he beasted. Returned to the big-time this year at The Lou. Can be a dominate edge-rusher and would go much higher if not for baggage.

RD 5 – EVAN BOEHM/ C/ Missou (6’3”/320)

Best case Boehm comes in and proves to be an upgrade over Bodine. Worst case he replaces TJ Johnson as our back up. Boehm is a powerful interior Olineman,

RD 6 – NILA KASITATI/OG/ OU (6’4”/323)

We double down at interior Oline. If you want to read a human interest story research this guy.

RD 7 – STEVEN DANIELS/ MLB/ BC (6’0”/ 257)

Thick interior LB that has some range. The former ST. X prep has limited coverage skills

Do you think Billings is a three down player or a two down player?

Billings can definitely pressure the QB and has great range for a big man. The Kansas HC said he is the best interior dlineman he has seen since Suh. He is definitely an every down player. Only issue with Billings is he might not declare.

This is a well thought out draft. Do you feel all of these guys will be available when we draft 32nd?

Obviously early in the process and some will move up or down; however, none are unrealistic at this point. I think Billings has the best chance of moving up and becoming the top interior Dlineman in the draft and going top 10. The only way he said he would declare would be if he received assurances that he would be a high 1st rd pick.

Which would make him a long shot here.  I've seen a few games of his this year and he is a man among boys out there.

He very well could be the top DT taken in this draft once all the pre-draft work is done.  He is a great player in both phases of the game for a DT.

yeah, I think his stock will rise in the pre-draft. WTS, I though he looked out of sorts against UNC in the Bowl game.

Yeah, but they do play against some of the best offenses in college.

There have been some pretty good DBs to come out of Texas over the past few years.

I'm too familiar with a lot of these players, i have heard of Fields and Billings, are these guys that you think we should target because of need or potential?

Not a bad 1st mock, can definitely get on board, and would be happy with that haul.

However, if Billings declares, Bengals may have to move up to get him. I would think that he would certainly go in the top 15-18 picks. And Boehm, I like him. However, not so sure that he would be around in the back half of the 5th round. (I know that he's currently projected in the 5th)

Bad news(Draft wise) is Fields and Likely have decided to return to school

Good news is Billings has declared. Of course that could be bad as he said he would only declare if he received assurances he would be an early first rd pick.

Artie Burns- Artie is a track star with ball skills. Led the ACC with 6 INTs including a pick 6. Returned kicks as a true Freshman. Broke a 36 year old American Record the 60 meter hurdles (U21). Declared because mom passed suddenly and now he must support 2 younger brothers as well as his own small son.  

RD 4- MATT JURDON/ DE/ GVSU/ (6'3"/258)


The guy swept the awards for linemen at the D-2 level. Matt is a pure edge rusher that led the nation in sacks.  6’3” 255. Jurdon is also a great-guy, volunteers at a summer camp for mentally challenged children in the summer.

I always get a bit nervous about the D-2 superstars, as many times they look so much better than they are.  (big fish in a small pond theory)  Didn't we have a RB, a few years ago, that was a D-2 phenom?

Definitely risk taking a small-school guy, that's why you can usually get them a little later. I thought about the Yannick Ng? kid out of Maryland. Similar skill set but I like Jurdon's length.

There's also a similar kid coming out of FLA. Deon Bush; very tall, very skinny, very fast, but left school under questionable circumstances

You're thinking of Bernard Scott. Also, taking these guys later in the draft is never a problem. Most of them are intelligent in terms of football since very few make it to the pros.
