Draft 1:
RD. 1 - 19th:
Kelvin Banks - OL - Texas - 6'5" 315
The consensus is that Banks is one of the top OTs in this draft and on virtually every board he is ranked within the top 15 players. While he is a top tackle prospect many believe that he has the ability to be an elite guard. The Bengals get a steal when the trade down and still are able to trade down and still land their day 1 starter at LG to protect Joe Burrow.
It is not a mystery that the starting guards in '24 were among the worst in the entire league with Cappa actually holding the distinction as the worst starting guard. In Banks they land a player that gives them an elite talent inside while also giving them a top shelf LT should they need to slide him outside in an emergency or down the road should they not retain Brown Jr., this could be much like the Whitworth scenario which turned out pretty damn well. Banks has drawn comparisons to both Darrisaw and Skoronski and that is mighty fine company to be in. Overall, Banks is a very strong prospect that needs to continue to develop and improve with some of his hand placement from time to time.
RD. 2 - 49th:
Nic Scourton - DE - A&M - 6'3" 257
The Bengals move from O line to D line in the second taking Scourton who ironically has drawn NFL comparison to Trey Hendrickson. Like Hendrickson his sack totals in college are not earth shattering but their motors and activity levels are off the charts. I do believe that while much of their games are very similar that Nic may be a bit better against the run. While you would like to see higher sack production from Nic he otherwise produces pure chaos in offensive backfields forcing mistakes and shortening offensive possessions. He has displayed a very strong ability to fight thru blocks and double teams while still keeping the play in front of him and then shown the ability to disengage and make the play. Like with Hendrickson I believe the sack numbers will come as he matures as a player and within the position.
RD. 3 - 81st:
Darien Porter - CB - Iowa St. - 6'3" 195
Porter gives the Bengals an element as a corner that they do not have and that is elite height and length to go along with elite speed. The knock on Porter is only having a single season as a starter as a 6th year player. However, the traits and strengths are there to project him as an outstanding young corner with more playing time. He was a standout special teams player for Iowa State thru his career so getting early ST snaps should be a way to get him on the field early. I would not be surprised to see this young man pushing for regular season playing time in his freshman campaign.
RD. 3 - 84th:
Alfred Collins - DT - Texas - 6'6" 332
Collins is a physical specimen for sure and there are those out there that feel that the right coaching could produce the best interior player to come out of this draft. He brings freakish length and comes with really good lateral movement, especially for someone his size. When you watch him you can see the untapped potential that this young man has. His size and length can make it difficult in the passing lanes for opposing QBs.
RD. 4 - 119th:
Jonas Sanker - S - Virginia - 6'0" 206
First Team All ACC safety that checks the boxes when you are looking for NFL measurables. Has displayed good coverage ability and instincts and plays with high energy. Like many young safeties he has some angle issues to work on but much of this comes with maturity as a player and within a scheme. Very willing to play downhill when attacking the run game. Sanker brings above average speed to the table as a safety and has displayed very good range as a defender. Was a special teams standout for Virginia.
RD. 5 - 153rd:
Sai'vion Jones - DE - LSU - 6'5" 280
The Bengals go back to the defensive line in the 5th taking an edge player that many consider to be on the rise and feel that his best football is ahead of him. Jones brings a outstanding motor and energy and goes until the whistle on every snap. He plays with really violent hands and has good get off. He needs to be polished in some areas but could find some minutes as a third down rush specialist as he adapts to the NFL game and matures as a player.
RD. 6 - 193rd:
Logan Brown - OL - Kansas - 6'6' 311
Brown only had one season as a starter but he went to the Senior Bowl and put on a clinic while taking snaps at every interior line position other than center and looking very capable at all of them. The Bengals would look to bring Brown in to compete for the starting spot at RG while his experience at Kansas gives them an emergency option at RT. Brown can tend to play a bit upright but he generates good power in the run game and lateral quickness as a pass blocker. There are things for him to clean up but some of that could be eased with a move to the interior.
RD. 7 - 235th:
Woody Marks - RB - USC - 5'10" 207
Marks is a very solid back in almost all areas. One area of work for Marks is in pass protection where he is willing but needs to work on his technique when sitting down to anchor against blitzers. Extremely sure handed as a receiver and runs very decisively when rushing the ball. In 608 carries he has only allowed the ball to hit the ground one time. Has displayed very good vision and when he gets an open lane is able to accelerate immediately.

I also prefer the 2nd one. Good influx of talent at positions of need. I would be happy with those guys.

As both those trades are ludicrous, I'll take either result.
