Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I think their FA right guard is Lucas Patrick.
I think they are done with FAs for now and it will be Patrick on the right side and (hopefully) Fairchild on the right.

I would love to be wrong but...

They drafted Michael Jordan (6'6, 312) in the 4th and he was our rookie Day 1 starter at LG.
-3 Years Later-
They drafted Cordell Volson (6'6, 315) in the 4th and he was our rookie Day 1 starter at LG.
-3 Years Later-
They draft Dylan Fairchild (6'5, 318) in the 3rd and he's supposedly our rookie Day 1 starter at LG.

...just feels like they aren't learning shit when it comes to the IOL. Would love to be wrong and for him to thrive, but I have a feeling that we're going to get a 3rd or 4th round rookie LG to be our starter in the 2028 draft.

Looks a good pick but I’m reserving judgment until I see what Frank thinks.

Hehehe, Frank and thinks, 2 words you don’t see in the same sentence often.

Very possible.  Patrick started 10 of 11 last year and PFF had him at G 54 overall.  That's fringe (solid backup/bad starter) level that you'd have compete with a rookie though.  Ideally, they use Pratt money to sign another FA and can still give a raise to Trey.

Fairchild has a clear path to start on the left side, and he will if its close.  They probably look at the quantity and say the guard room is done maybe FA safety depth now. It's a shame, because Ford at 3T, Patrick at 3G and Lee at 2C is good depth.

Believe it or not MJ has started 21 games for two different NFL teams since he left.

Fairchild has better tape and college production than either of those two. One big thing I want to see out of him is getting his pads low enough he isn't giving up his chest to opposing DL - that is Volson's single biggest issue and why he has issues anchoring when for his size he should not.

I liked hearing that he only gave up one sack. This is a passing team (duh) and Volson regularly seemed to get pushed into Burrows face. If Patrick and Fairchild can just hold their ground and not get steamrolled vs the rush then the offense will be even better.

The guard play was so bad that 2 guys just playing at a mediocre level will be a huge upgrade.

Those on here wanting a Blocker got one. I'm glad they focused on the awful defense first. Golden and Taylor are happy with the first 3 picks, and that's more important than some of the always negatives on this site. Go to Bengals. com and Taylor and Golden like their picks.

OK pick for me.

Again, maybe a tad early for the player. But at least we reached for need.

Only beefs are too early and not azplug & play starter.

I always say it’s best to get your DC’s opinion on OL prospects.

Now you know I was talking to the other guy about Goldens opinion on the D Picks.   Golden and Taylor like the D picks and they got a blocker some of you wanted.  I'll take Golden and Taylors opinion over the negative opinions of people on this site every single day.  These people saying it's been an awful draft, that is the complete opposite of what Golden and Taylor are saying.  Some people forget, they have Burrow, Chase and Higgins locked in long term now.  They brought in Golden because you also need Defense.  Golden likes the 2 D picks, and here is the Blocker some on here wanted,  Tackling and Blocking.

I say it again, The Coaches like the draft so far, and that means more to me than the negatives on this site always bashing The Bengals.
