Dont blame Lou for the Myles Murphy pick

It's laughable how bad they have drafted in the first round when they don't have a top 5 no brainer pick. 

I mean I guess you can go that route and do that order we could go this route....

Since the Joe Burrow Era 2020--

3 Starters - 2 LB and an OL that's still in the league

2021 - Chase, Ossai, Sample, McPherson

2022 - Dax has shown he can be a good DB. Its not a bad pick at 31.  CBT,

2023 - Murphy, Turner, Battle, Chase Brown, Yoshi, Jones, Ivey.  ***This to me is a SOLID draft class  and shocking didnt draft in the Top 5....

2024 - Mims, Jenkins, Jackson, All (showed out got hurt), Newtown, Johnson, Lee *** Again solid class and shocking they didnt draft in the Top 5

So have the Bengals had some shit drafts, yes, but so have the Browns who have triple the scouts the Bengals do.

In a way yes, but i also blame the Organization for not giving the coaches the time needed to develop them. The lack of scouts takes away from that time. Scouts need to scout while coaches need to coach. With the way we do things, it's alot of work for a coach when they have to try to do both and as we can see, it doesn't always work.

Lou was mediocre at best. Without the good halftime changes against the chiefs everyone would have been calling for his head long ago. There are two types of people in the world, those who are work for and or are bengals fans, and those who aren’t. Lou is gone, and now we can see his mediocre defenses elsewhere!

Look, I can agree with your list with the exception of Stewart. I think including him on there is incredibly harsh. He hasn't played yet. I mean, looking at the list you put together, is that reasonable to do? Also, ZT only drafted Murphy & Hill.... Honestly, Hill at least showed promise. I think he's borderline on the list, personally.

I don't understand blaming the coaches for the Bengals not having a real scouting department.  The coaches already have enough on their plate trying to get the team ready throughout the week and getting a gameplan together yet some of our fans wont blame the Bengals organization for the scouting, they instead blame the coaches.  I just dont agree with that.  The failures of the scouting department is a problem with the Bengals management.  They need to hire several more scouts instead of expecting the coaching staff to do everything.

It will be interesting to see what Lou does with the players the Colts drafted this year. Will they develop and turn into stars, or is Lou really too "hands off". And are the picks solid to begin with? They picked a few spots ahead of us and it is hard not to like the prospects they chose:

BINGO 

Teams use actual data, analytics, and have entire staffs related to player evaulation. It's why there aren't as many swings and misses in the draft in recent years. 

The Bengals are significantly behind the curve in this aspect.

I'll give you that. I put Stewart on the list as a hypothetical. 

Dax Hill was drafted in 2022 and we still have no idea if he can play or not. I'd consider that a failed draft pick. Would you pick up the fifth year option on him? Not sure I would.

This will be fascinating to watch...but not sure how much invovlement Lou has in picking guys in Indy. Their FO is a lot different than ours.

I'm not going to lie, I would have drafted Harmon at this spot, and screamed so loud that my cats did not reappear for another hour.

But as I looked at the film, and heard how in fire Stewart is about playing football, saw how much he lived in opponents'' backfields and thought about the few things technically that could be corrected that might make him a total beast I relaxed.

I lived off of draftnik boards and PFF simulators. But I'm a social worker dude who only thinks he knows something and knows he probably doesn't. I don't like the moves the team makes, but there is a ton of potential in in this draft and I can't wait to see how it pans out. If Stewart and the 2 O Linemen work out we've addressed most of the concerns that I had going into the draft. Definitely not all, but no one does (except Baltimore. They just always have things fall their way!). If we truly give #9 a solid interior pocket our offense will be scary. If we have pressure coming from more than one part of the D Line it will change everything on third and long.
