Post Draft needs, options?
#1
The draft targeted several glaring holes on the roster, yet a few (Safety, CB depth, starting RG, WR depth) remain. Who would you like to see the Bengals sign ? address needs?

My personal choices are Justin Simmons and one of Brandon Scherff/Dalton Risner. Simmons played well last year, and has been a perennial Pro Bowler/upper tier safety. Risner or Scherff would solidify RG and allow Patrick to serve in the swing role. After Pratt gets released there should be money to do a deal or two.
Through 2024

Mike Brown Owner/GM record: 34 years  232-311-4  .419 winning pct.
Playoff Record:  5-9 .357 winning pct.
Zac Taylor coaching record: 6 years 46-52-1 .470 winning pct.
Playoff Record: 5-2 .714 winning pct.

I think they need to pick up one more OG.

Can’t have enough OGs that’s for sure.
Who do you want them to get?
Ice Cube? Dr Dre?

Cube is funnier, but Dre makes better music

Yep...It would be nice to add a veteran guard.

I do not high hopes we are active in FA. My wish list would be:

Will Hernandez if he is recovered from knee injury, if not Risner

I would love Blackman at safety be added

I know I may be in the minority, but I wish the team would go out of character 1 time and sign UFA Isiah Bond to compete for a WR job. I know ZT values character, but the Ravens drafted Green with major red flags, I love character, but I also love redemption and 2nd chances. Give the young man the chance to redeem himself both as a football player and a human being.

The difference between Green and Bond is that Bond is in the middle of an active criminal legal battle. I don't think any team touches him until there is a resolution there as you take the PR hit and he could end up in jail and you never see any return for the hit you are taking.

I like your thoughts on a Safety like Simmons and either Risner or Scherff. I remember there was another vet Safety out there to be had as well
but for some reason his name is slipping my mind right now. We will see if the new coaching staff are also considering moving CTB to FS where I
think he would fit like a glove and it would hide his weaknesses covering Receivers on the boundary.

Hernandez also could be in play once he is healthy.

Yeah regardless of quantity a title contender doesn't bank on two rookie guards starting. Patrick is there to start if Fairchild can't, otherwise he's a good backup guard on a contender. Ford is the swing tackle and only played guard because Volson couldn't. Use the 4M or whatever on Risner for a year or even sign one of the 2 injury prone vets. I'm on board for safety help too and hope they get one or the other.

I get it. I just look back to when Big Ben was named in not 1 but 2 sexual assault cases while a member of the Steelers. He did not lose his job.

It appears teams are denying him a chance at the NFL, they are esentially deeming him guilty as charged. Hr may be guilty, Ben may have been guilty also but he continued on in the NFL.

Looking at this story, it seems to be a he said, she said case. He also aleges she trying to extort $5000 out of him. I mention th amoun only because if Bond is making this up, why not say a huge number like $100K.

We will see where it goes. He is suing her and he has the pending charges.

I would love for them to sign Risner but I think they have their guards for 2025. They are going to give Fairchild every opportunity to start and I’m sure they signed Patrick to be a starter.

Better than last year but still not ideal. Hope they surprise me and sign another vet but I wouldn’t bet on it.

I don't know about that........ Cube was the ultimate lyricist, but Dre did help revolutionize the rap game and had some mad beats.

As far as post-draft needs, I'm hoping they can bring in Risner or Scherff, and then a safety like Blackman or if another strong safety gets released, just like everyone else.

Our team is almost ready to make another Super Bowl run!

I'd love a quality vet guard option.

He (Bond) has been charged with an actual crime, Ben was never charged. Mike Green like Ben was also never actually charged. Even going back to DeShaun Watson....he was never actually charged with a crime.

Again, not something any team is going to chance until the legal case has been resolved. This isn't the normal civil case we see in these situations, this is at actual criminal case which makes it somewhat unique in this realm with athletes.

One note, the charging documents show that he actually offered the money and she followed up with a question as in "Are you trying to pay me? That means you know it was wrong." I will say the affidavit the police released and was reported on earlier this month is REALLY bad for him.

I think if they're going to give a 2nd chance and redemption is going to be to the kid they drafted as a WR in the 3rd round last year,  Jermaine Burton.

If that kid can figure it and get his head out of the clouds, then we have a least 4 WR we can count on for quite a while.

I think Burton could take this offense to another level "IF" his head is on correctly and he's grown up.

They'll never do it, and I know that, but could you imagine if they went out and signed Justin Simmons to compete with Geno Stone for FS snaps? He's only 31 (turning 32 in November), and is just 1 season removed from a pro bowl season. You can't tell me he wouldn't improve this team.

Yes, I heard he texted about the money.

They obviously have some evidence or would not have charged him. In time, we will find out if they have enough evidence to convict him. In time, we will find out if he has enough evidence to win a case against her in civil court as well.

I am not disagreeing these are not compelling reasons to not sign him. I get it.

Simmons seems to have a lost a step so not sure he plays any faster the Stone. I am no dan of Stone, but not sure he is an upgrade.

We can list players that we hope the FO will sign, but i think they're done adding FA to this roster and will roll with what they got. I think the only movement will be Pratt being shown the door and possibly a PS type player picked up. Hope i'm wrong though!

I can see us let Pratt audition for other teams in preseason so we can trade versus cut him. Either way ceiling is likely a 6th round pick, but more likely a 7th at best.
