Reds had Ty France and last I saw he was putting up good numbers for team he is on, as he usually does. I hope Reds got something for him.
At Atlanta is rough, but at Houston this weekend is also rough. This is a Killer Road Trip.
This team is a cluster f**k.
Same base running mistakes, getting picked off, can’t advance runners, walking batters, stupid errors, it never stops.
The other day, we had 4 guys in starting lineup batting on the interstate, below .200. How in the hell can you win with 4 pitchers batting in the lineup.

So if this team isn’t proof that PLAYERS win games and MANAGERS have little to no real effect, I don’t know what is. I, like others, was excited when we signed Tito to lead. Now that the honeymoon period is over, I’m seeing it for what it really was…a PR move to fool fans into thinking things will change. Gotta find some way to bring back those season ticket holders and the weekend money spenders after a disappointing 2024 (and 2023, 22, 21, 20,19, and far PRIOR depending on how you feel about the 1991 through 2010’s teams).
I wonder what next season’s PR move will be? They’re running out of options. I mentioned on Reddit that maybe it’ll be Phil in a Dunking Booth for weekend day games. A clown who can juggle torpedo bats while riding a unicycle. Former Reds greats are invited to be “Ringmaster” For a Day (a Reds knockoff version of our Bengals’ Rule the Jungle). May as well, this organization is a circus sideshow act anyways, May as well embrace it!

Another 1-0 L night? What's the single season record for those?

Reds just acquired Connor Joe from the Padres for Andrew Moore and cash. Callihan transferred to the 60 day IL.

Not a 1-0 L, but still a shutout loss. The 9th of the year already.
Current MLB single-season record for shutout losses is 33 (1908 Cardinals).
We're on pace for 36.5 right now.

Reds have played 10 games of scoring 1 or 0 runs, out of the first 40 games. 25% of your games and you can’t score more than 1 run.
They bring in new coach, hitting coach, new players and it’s the same story. Pathetic
They absolutely suck with runners in scoring position. I thought the new game plan, was to play the game the right way? Advance runners, make contact, move runners along. Instead, they swing for the fences just like very year. No concept of how they game is supposed to be played.
There is no I ( individual) in team, this is a team sport, and it requires all players to sacrifice, hit the other way, and make contact. I watch other teams just try to make contact against us, but we apparently didn’t get the memo.
On another subject, EDLC is now tied for 2nd in strikeouts, so much for him making contact. On top on that, he is bailing out of the batters box at least twice very at bat. The Reds couldn’t hit a slider, if their life depended on it, if I was the opponent, I would not throw a fastball for a strike, and just throw sliders on outside of the plate, all day.

A couple weeks ago I was pretty high on this team thinking they were gonna change, they're not! 1 win in last 7 games.
To many guys on the sick, lame, and lazy list. Offense is still just waayyyyy to inconsistent. Two regular players batting under .200, Elly on pace for 300 strikeouts. It kills me when he watches pitches right down the middle and never takes the bat off his shoulder and then swings at something eye high (to him) and a foot outside. It was never even close to being in the zone! Then strikes out on a pitch that bounces two feet in front of the plate.
If they stay above .500 this season, I'll be shocked.

Well for some reason Will Benson is back. Both him and Connor Joe are in tonights lineup batting 8 and 9 repectively. Hope the top of the lineup does something or it could be another long night.

The hitting has let this team down big time.
Reds pitchers are 4th in the NL in ERA
They are 1st in batting average against
They are 1st in WHIP..walks and hits per inning pitched.

Yup! Hopefully that's not their 3 day budget for scoring runs blown in 1 inning. Lol

Reds can get to .500 today
Houston has Ronel Blanco. At 31 years old is still kind of new to MLB last couple years. He did throw a no hitter last season and had a good 2024 season.
Reds have Chase Petty who is new to MLB at age 22. A 1st round pick by Minnesota Twins who Reds got in a trade for Sonny Gray. Chase is one of top minor league prospects in MLB and has a 100 MPH fastball. However he hasn't had enough minor league action due to 2020 no minors covid season. He would and should be in minors, but somebody had to replace Hunter Greene. He has moved up in the minors, but his ERA's show he hasn't dominated in the minors. I expect as soon as Greene comes back, Petty goes back down. A good top pick prospect, but probably not ready for the majors at this point. With Greene out, Reds needed somebody to pitch. This might be a game Ashcraft gets called on to pitch in long relief maybe 3 innings. They have Monday off, so whatever it takes to fill in with Greene out.
Houston has Hader ready to close if they have a lead to hold. Pagan pitched yesterday, but Reds have Monday off, so Pagan an option if Reds have a lead to close.

Petty looking like he's going to maybe make it through 3 innings.

Well that looked good until it didn't.
A) Lux should have caught that ball in the gap.
B) Espinal loses his balance after a nice scoop
C) Right . . . Down . . . Broadway 3-0
D) De La Cruz didn't peel away when called off and then did at the last second?

Bucknor sucks. Any borderline pitch to a Reds hitter gets called a strike while being called a ball to Astros hitter. Petty got screwed a few times on that.
