Quote:San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is about to become a very rich man. According to CBS Sports Lead NFL Insider Jonathan Jones, Purdy and the Niners have agreed to terms on a five-year, $265 million contract extension. The deal includes $181 million in total guarantees and $165.05 million in the first three years, according to NFL Media.

The $53 million average annual value on the deal ranks tied for seventh at the position, behind only Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagovailoa. The reported $181 million in guarantees, if accurate, would rank eighth. The total value of $265 million is fifth behind Patrick Mahomes, Allen, Lawrence and Burrow.

Not too bad for Mr. Irrelevant.

I don't think so. He may not be the best, but I thought he was consistent. He seems to have good rapport with the offense. But I get your negativity. He seems like a decent kid (as far as I know).

He had a good rapport with the offense when he had...
OPoY RB
All-Pro FB
All-Pro WR
2nd Team All-Pro WR
All-Pro TE
A great OC who has made a lot of different QBs looks great.
...simultaneously.

I view 2023 Brock Purdy as pretty much 2024 Sam Darnold, just Purdy had even more talent around him. He lost some of it (not even most of it) last year and dropped off heavily.

I'll bow to this debate simply because I don't know enough about last year's 49'rs.

He has been solid for 49ers, especially in playoffs.. actually has a higher QB rating than Burrow in playoffs.. 6 games 6 tds- 1 int.. Burrow 7 games 9 tds vs 4 ints.. hard to find consistent QBs , smart move to lock him up
