Nick Chubb

Simple quick question I’ve been curious about. Would you take a chance on Chubb. He’s back to squating freaking 600lbs.

Negative. He’s going to be 30 this season and had one of the more gruesome knee injuries in recent memory. I don’t think he offers anything that the current room doesn’t at this point.

My money is on Chubb being a Raider when the season starts.

I would not gave minded a flier as RB4 when the offseason started.

But after bringing in Perine, re-structuring Moss, and drafting Brooks, I think that bird has flown.

Dobbins is still unsigned, but will cost more.

We only carried 3 RBs last year, which I thought was a bit thin. Too many WRs & TEs who don't contribute, and PS level OL guys.

Still, you can get away with 3, but they all have to be able to play. It was dumb, Williams couldn't, and we had to burn a pick to get Herbert here for a handful if games.

I didn't know he played defense.  Cool

He did. Best RB in the league for a few years though IMO.

Agree with the Tahj Brooks comparison, sure hope he becomes something like Chubb in his prime. Stealers took out Chubb's knee and his career.

Them bastids once again... Whatever

As do most non-QB players in the year following a devastating knee injury.  But they normally look better in year 2 after their return.

To the point, though, everyone is right that we already have a room that shouldn't require additions outside of camp bodies.

Your comp for the Bengals 6th round 193rd overall selected RB,  is the NFL RB who was the best in the league from 2019-2022? (5400 Yards rushing and 40 TDS)

Were there not people saying Derrick Henry was washed up and had too much milage before he went to the Ravens? Chubb was coming off his knee surgery so he probably wasnt fully ready last year. I would expect he would have a better season this year so I wouldnt mind adding him to the team. I would take Chubb over Moss. Chubb coming off his surgery had a 3.3 yard average. A healthy Zach Moss before the neck injury had a 3.3 yard average. If I had to guess which one is going to have a better season this year I would pick Chubb.

...and then he broke his foot in December.

I am not a Moss fan, but keep in mind that Chubb's 3.3 is with Cleveland's IOL and Moss' 3.3 is with Cincinnati's IOL. They are not the same.

He's now had two major knee surgeries on the same knee (one you can bounce back from now, but two is still really sapping), then broke a foot on the same leg as that knee. Now he's heading into his age 30 season.

Bengals already have 4 RBs under contract - Brown, Perine, Moss, Brooks.
As much as I don't care for Moss, Bengals renegotiated his contract, so he's stickin this year.

Bengals won't consider another RB unless an injury occurs.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

It's probably time for Nick Chubb to call it a career, while he can still return to mostly full health and enjoy life with his family.

A special shout-out to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization for causing another career-altering/ ending knee injury.
