Yes, Miley was indeed pretty solid. Just remember that his favorite pitch is ball one. Watching him battling MLB hitters with underwhelming stuff and getting the win will teach a lot to this young staff.

Abbott looking awesome again with 90 pitches through eight innings. Heading out for the 9th!!

Great diving catch by Fraley. It's small things like that by their vets that make me ignore the cries for a "much needed trade" by the ignorant podcasters. There's not much available in the OF market and what is available is over priced and not much better than what's already here or in AAA.

I'm as old school as it gets, but this mentality of the trade deadline being even close to the same since before the expansion of the playoffs is ridiculous. There are too many teams still in it and can't signal to their fanbase that they're giving up on the season. In the American league, there are only three teams more than five games out, Orioles -8.5, A's -10.5 and the White Sox -13.5.

In the National league, there are six teams over five games out. Arizona -5.5 is NOT going to sell because they had an awesome late season run last year and they made up a lot more than 5.5 games. The Nationals -7 are a possibility to be sellers but Atlanta -9 still thinks that they have a playoff roster that can overcome their rough start so they're not likely to sell. Pittsburgh -11, Miami -12.5 and Colorado -22.5 will be in the market.

That means that there's a good chance that there will be 23 teams trying to improve from the rosters of the seven worst teams in the league. Overpriced for not much available.

June started bad, but back to back Sweeps would help. Lodolo on the mound for The Sweep.

Hell of a bounce back for Abott after that last start against Milwaukee.

Diggin' the winning streak, crossing my fingers for another sweep. What a game by Abbott! The last CG by a Red was Wade Miley's no hitter years back.

Happy the Reds are on a winning streak and finally above .500.
What I don't like is they are still 4th in the NL Central and 3.5 games out of the last WC spot.
There's obviously still hope given there are still 90+ games to play, but being actually in the WC nearly halfway through the season would position them far better to actually get there.
Last year, they were 32-35 by June 11.
The year before, they were 31-35. In 2023, they got as high as 10 games above .500 but still ended up floundering and missing the postseason, finishing 82-80.

Hoping this team can actually keep the momentum going this Summer.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Facebook post so that means that it will disappear in a few days but it's pretty cool that right now, every major league team leads the league in something.

Well, the Reds lost. But Chicago, Milwaukee, and St Louis lost also.
