The sad thing is that with a good defense the Bengals could go back to Super Bowl.  Even Mahomes of Chiefs say he hopes Bengals don't sign Hendrickson or the #1 pick, because Bengals would be hard to beat if they had a god defense.   Mike Brown & Family should be thinking Super Bowl, but they aren't, and we can see they aren't. 

They won't even win at Cleveland. In fact they might get clobbered. Bengals take their normal loss in week 1.  Cleveland 34, Bengals 20 and another 0-1 start as usual. 

You have to love fans who quit on the team in mid July. Hell, we should just cut everyone and save millions now. Why even try to win if you are a coach or fan, fans already quit on the team and have no faith in them.

I'll try to spell it out better. 

1. Bengals could have signed Tee and Ja'marr earlier than they did, for less money (see that, i'm not advocating they just spend more money), helping the salary cap in the future. 
2. Bengals could have handled Trey better and signed him to a longer contract for less money than they have to pay now (what do you know, another example of me wanting the FO to help themselves by spending less money), helping the salary cap in the future. 

PoI:
1. I want the Bengals to be a smart front office.
2. I want the Bengals to sign players to fair (and team friendly when possible) deals, to avoid contract disputes.
3. I don't want the Bengals to end up in cap hell, ala, the Saints.
4. I want the Bengals to win. 

I'm not 'in it to win it' by bashing the FO. I bash the FO because they deserve it.

Excellent post. Couldn’t agree more. Again I share my comparison. The Bengals are like the poker player in your group who dutifully antes. But he folds most of the time but when he doesn’t you know he’s got a great hand. He wins but the pot isn’t big because everybody knows he’s got a great hand. So he never goes home the big winner or big loser for the night.

So realistically, they should compromise with giving the raise from Dallas Turner at least as a compromise to signing with the don't be a dummy clause.  It's wild that they're not giving that concession.  Asking him to take less makes more sense as to why the holdout has lasted this long.  They need to pay him for being their guy at 17.  Sending a message that if you're a Bengal you're going to have a conduct clause in your contract is one thing.  Showing future picks that they'll get paid less than the previous slot is a massive mistake.  This could cause players to not visit because of this.

Yet when the FO signs a team friendly deal like Trey, you chastise them. I say door swings both ways, yes they make mistakes by not signing guys early like Chase, but in 2 years he is not happy if we got him on a deal, then you will inisist we pay him.

Trey was great contract and so was Tee once you analyze it is incentive laced. I have agreed I would like us to manipuate the cap when needed, I would argue to 2025 is not that year, we have tons of cap space. More so than anytime at this time maybe in 5 or 6 years, maybe longer. So why push cap dollars to 2026 and 2027 and then have cap issues then if we don't need it. Also, we could do something with Burrow today and free up 20 to 25 million in 2025. But because we can in 2025 does not mean it is smart unless we have some stud that becomes available for trade, we are done with FA otherwise as far as high priced players in 2025.

It all may be 100% accurate but it is a fact it is a ons sided take from Fowler. Did he try to get the Bengals to give their side or just take the agent's side only? We know te answer, Bengals never talk so run with it as fact when it has not be confirmed.

Our fans are so quick to take the agent's word for everything like it is 100% factual. Yet, we have no idea f it is or agent's play to hurt the Bengals PR wise for leverage.

If you were accused of something I would think you would like an opportunity to dispute it? At least try Fowler and others versus writing things as fact whne they may be fiction.

My question at this point now that Knight was signed is are they even actively trying to work this out right now with Stewart? I have seen nothing on that front.
If this dude even thinks he is that good of a prospect (4 sacks in 3 yrs) to attempt to roll dice on the draft next yr he is very really mislead or a just a complete dumb ass.
He would likely go in rd 5 or later

he was a consensus 1st round pick, so not overdrafted, but sitting out would hurt him plus the bengals still have the rights to him, not sure how that would play out

It is stupid on Stewart's part as well. I heard they are trying though, but how hard is it to just not have him have a pay decrease 
from Dallas Turner of last year's draft is my question? This sounds like something pretty simple to me. But like you said, Shemar is
even stupider gambling on his future over such a small thing.

I would be eager to get into the NFL and earn my money. Not act entitled to get my money before I even stepped on an NFL football

Per the CBA if he does not sign and sits out the Bengals have his rights until the draft next year.  At that point he can enter the draft again and be drafted by any team but the Bengals.  There is an exception to this though.  If he were to sign a contract with a a team in another professional league like the CFL, the Bengals would maintain his rights for 3 years.
