Has been cut by the Raiders and is now a free agent! Should the Bengals be interested in signing him?

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Maybe, has he improved or regressed since his time here?

Sounds like he's still not healthy.

Probably a lesson somewhere there: "Voided the remaining $32.5 million dollars of guaranteed money"  because of how he treated rehab from a foot injury.

32.5 million dollars guaranteed voided! For a failure to rehab the way the team requested it. Can't wrap my head around that.

Shocked
Remember when we were stupid for not signing him? Raiders paid him 6.5 million per game played.

Wilkins filed a grievance.

That's why you don't give owners even more ways to void your guaranteed money if they want to without anything in return. If it can be voided at will, it's not actually guaranteed anymore.

Can't predict injuries. He's a great DT when healthy but he's like 10 months in and PUP'd for a fractured toe.

Right, which is the whole idea of acting like any signing is the key to success is wild. This isn’t uncommon for free agents, we’ve been on the losing side of this a few times ourselves. In all honesty, I’ve found the second tier multiple options approach we’ve seen the Eagles and other teams take to be more interesting.

I am not usre I get this unless it was a non football injury but don't think it was so likely Raiders lose once he challenges.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Right, he does. Do you remember when a guy like Ronnie Lott had a finger amputated, so that he could go on and play the game pain free?

He broke his foot in week 5 last year and the foot still hasnt healed? I would love to have a healthy Wilkins on the D line but since his foot hasnt healed in all this thime, I think its a bad sign so I would probably pass on him. If you look up Jones fracture, its a hard to heal injury so you need to take steps to make sure the break heals properly.

I never liked that terminology. Gives me that "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means" vibe.

Which I believe caused him to lose guaranteed money. He didn't do it the way the Raiders wanted him to do and now it's still not right. I can't fault the Raiders for that.

Really Wilkins in a sense got a raw deal by the Raiders. But hope he can bounce on back.

Was thinking guaranteed when I posted, but seeing this list of words....I don't like any of them, except for "it." That one can stay.

Refusing to have a 2nd surgery is certainly his choice, but if his performance is hampered by the decision should a team have to continue to pay him 100% of his guarantees? This is why I do not like full guarantees. He could sit on injured reserve trying to rehab a foot that is not going to rehab, never play a down, and receive all his money. Doesn't seem right to me.
As for bringing him here, pass, for the same reason.

Which part? That they voided it or how he treated the rehab?

Its hard for me to form an accurate opinion without specific details but just on the surface I find myself siding with teams on this stuff. Why should you pay someone who's not playing for you and isn't doing what you're requesting them to in order to be able to play. But again so specifics so just a high level opinion.
