Reds acquiring Zack Littell from TB
#1
Sounds like the Reds are sending them 2 players one of which is a major leaguer.

Seems a 3rd team is involved in this trade too.

Now they say just the 2 teams involved and that Adam Serwinowski is the prospect being sent to TB.

Rosencrans is saying he's going to the 3rd mystery team.

Worried about his HR rate going to GABP, but seems like a good trade.

Van Belle is in his age 28 season, has never reached the majors, and has a 4.95 ERA in AAA. He's basically a nothing in trade value terms.
Serwinowski is struggling hard in A+.

I feel like we didn't really lose anything.

Reds are falling behind San Diego in the trade battle. They are getting better players than the Reds, and that’s the team we need to catch for the last wild card spot. Not looking good

It's what happens when one team is trying to win and one isn't.

We could have used left fielder batting .290 with power

We could have used just about any RH power bat to be honest.  I'd take a 1B or DH at this point.

The Padres have dealt 4 of their top 8 prospects and are left with one prospect on MLB.com's top 100 list.

The Reds currently still have 6 of the top 100 on that list.

When deals aren't made, we don't know what was offered and what was off-limits. They might have been offering some of those prospects for Suarez, but Arizona might have been asking for either Steer, McLain or Marte to be thrown in We don't know.

I would have been ok trading Benson or Farley.  They are good bench players or spot starters, but not everyday players. McClain never returned to his rookie year numbers, Steers is down. Fredle is good in center, Hayes in left, maybe EDLC in right. Find another shortstop and an everyday catcher.

LOL sounds like an easy deal.

Again . . . they may not want what you are offering and they might not be asking for what you want to give up, like two proven bench players. How noble of you "Take my crap and give me starters". Good luck with that.

And I love the "MCLain never returned to his rookie year numbers" line. He hasn't returned to his rookie numbers, yet. He only played 89 games as a rookie and is in his 100th game this season. He's a whopping 27 games beyond one full season while missing an entire year in between. I'll explain what I've seen that I think has led to his drop in numbers in a day or two and then you can repeat it while acting like you saw it all along.
