Castellini Era
#1
I decided to look up specifics for when Castellini took over as owner of the Reds.
This quote from Wikipedia made me chuckle.

Quote:After the 2005 season, the Reds had endured five consecutive losing seasons, the team's longest such streak in 50 years, under the ownership of Carl Lindner. Castellini led a group that purchased the Reds from Lindner for $270 million, and in January 2006, Castellini was named the CEO of the franchise.

At the time of Castellini's takeover, five consecutive losing seasons was the worst stretch in the Reds' previous 50 years.
Since Castellini's takeover, the Reds actually BROKE that stretch: 2014-2019 (6 seasons).
The COVID-shortened year ended up breaking that streak, finishing at a measly 31-29.
In fact, the Reds haven't finished a season 5+ games over .500 since 2013's 90-win season, which was Dusty's last.

Do the Reds need to go out and find a proven GM like they had with Walt now that they have a proven winning manager from prior teams?
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I knew it was bad, but didn’t expect it to be that bad.

There is a reason the Reds are not on Sunday night baseball. It’s called ratings, who wants to watch the Reds.

Ugh.  Unfortunately, I think Phil is going to be orders of magnitude worse than Bob.  He seems like an entitled rich kid straight out of central casting.  Doubt he gives one shit about this team or it's fanbase.  I never thought it possible, but I might actually dislike him more than 90's era Mike Brown.

He just needs the orange hair and nose to complete the clown outfit.

A baseball man.  Not because he played the game at a high level.  Not because he loves the game.  Not because he's particularly savvy about it.

For one simple reason: His rich daddy.  I loathe these kinds of people.  They take jobs from better qualified candidates and make everyone around them miserable.  You can tell he's a total assbag by just looking at him.

That might be a coin flip between Phil C and Mike Brown, but Mike Brown gets to get the coin, lol
