Cincy Jungle's Keys To Victory

Cincy Jungle laid out some things that we learned from the Ravens that we can apply to beat the Steelers, but it's basically just playing two safeties deep and not giving up the big play, which we should be able to do since they have no running game with their top two backs injured and not playing.

Even if we give up an occasional big play on the ground, we can't have our safeties cheating up because Ben loves to go for the big play:

We have already done this the last 2 games we played them.

We can do it even better by laying the wood once the Pig checks it down.

George of the Jungle, Burfict, Shawn and Reggie need to make the receivers pay.

I love how everyone keeps pointing out what we need to do defensively to stop the Steelers, when that isn't an issue.

What we should be discussing is how our Offense can move the chains and score points as that has been the biggest issue for us this season against the Steelers.

If not for the play of the offense then we would have won that 2nd game, if AJM doesn't throw the pick 6 and doesn't throw the other INT that led to a short field and an easy TD for Williams, then we win 20 -19.

Our defense is fine.

What we need to do, is take a page out of the Ravens' offensive playbook and throw to our RBs in the middle of the field.

Mallett was dumping off to the RBs all game long and had a lot of success. Kyle J. and Allen both had 5 catches for 55 and 35 yards respectively. Watching that game, you could see the RBs going in as if to block and then sneaking out and catching the pass. In the 2nd half, the Steelers adjusted for this and the Ravens then started going medium range on the field and only going long to keep the Steelers honest.

We did this the first game against them. Maybe Baltimore took the game plan from us. Maybe we took it from someone else. Its more about execution more than anything. With their top backs out this looks even more plausible to execute.

Blanketing Brown and Bryant and Heath

Pressure on Ben

Not getting behind their receivers (DRE!)

Not allowing their 3rd string RB to look like Adrian Peterson

The key is to hope for a monsoon and shut down Big Ben's passing game. Hill and Gio will run us to victory.

Do what they usually do on defense. And keep brown under wraps. We need sacks saturday, I am hoping for athe least 4. Been has broke 300 on us yet, and if we keep it that way saturday, with their lack of a RB, we should be able to handle them soundly.

Good points, we need to use Gio early in the passing game.

Hill is not bad at catching the ball but he is not a Gio or even a Burkhead in this phase of the game.
