Did you purchase 132 lottery tickets?

Some advice for lottery players,

Buying a few dozen or a few hundred tickets will not increase your chances of winning. Unless you purchase a few hundred million tickets, your chances are just as good if you only purchase one ticket.

If they want to pay me to advertise for them that's an entirely different conversation, but advertising is a business. This is completely wrong.  It does increase the chances of winning, although still practically zero.  2 tickets are essentially twice as likely to win and 100 tickets are 100 times as likely, and so on.  The smartest number to buy based probability is and always will be zero, but your odds do increase proportional to the number of tickets purchased.

No,  am pretty sure it's from the perspective of simple math/probability.

Hold up 600 million fingers and the guy who gets to guess once has a 1/600,000,000 chance of guessing right. The guy who gets to guess 132 times has a 1/4,545,454 chance of guessing right. Is it still ridiuculous odds? Yes. Are they significantly better odds? Obviously.

Once again, that's how math and probability work. I'm not sure why you're so set on this blatantly wrong idea that 132 chances gives you the same odds at 1 chance.
