Are you guys really going to pretend like you don't know that rookie WRs often struggle? Even a casual fan should know this.
Struggling and failing are two different things. Coates did next to nothing for the Steelers last season, but he did his job when he did get an opportunity.
Ward was the steelers best option at receiver in 2010 because the offense was build around him, despite his age and Wallace's speed. Nothing it the offense played to brown's strengths accept deep passes, which was Wallace's and Sander's strengths as well. Brown had limited opportunities in that offense because of the players I already named, but he still earned himself some opportunities and made big plays when he did get opportunites. Perriman had no competition to outperform and he still couldn't earn himself any playing time in an offense that had nothing to lose by just trying anything by the end of September.
