Batting .455 since the All Star break (28 games) with a .707 slugging percentage and a .552 on base percentage. He has reached base 69 times in his last 125 plate appearances.
Over his last 38 games (almost a full quarter of a season) going back to the end of June he is hitting .426 with a .667 slugging percentage and a .542 on base percentage. He has reached base 91 times in 168 plate appearances. Over thta stretch he has raised his batting average 61 points (.242 to .303) his slugging percentage 75 points (.436 to .511) and his on base percentage 59 points (.369 to .428).
I don't know why Votto started out so slow this year. it was BY FAR the worst start of his entire career. Through the first 48 games (30% of the season) he was hitting .206 with a .335 slugging percentage. But now he is in the middle of the hottest streak of his entire career. If he had just gotten off to an average start he would be looking at another MVP season.
