That is a verty good number for a NT.

You have no point to miss.

And what is Peko's annual average in his career?  You're right. The defensive line is perfect and never struggles when a team goes maximum protection against them.  Good thing that strategy never hurt the Bengals in the playoffs or anything.

Yep, I'm good with status quo.  It's been a lot of fun.

We could definitely improve our pass rush in place of Peko. It's just not his forte. I'd say Peko's sacks come from our actual adept pass rushers forcing the QB to move in the pocket. That said Peko is a hell of a run stuffer for sure. We could definitely shore up our pass rush with a specialist at DT on passing downs. This was one of the roles that Hunt was supposed to excel in, and we all see how that is going....

I didn't mean to sound like I was putting down Peko.  I love the guy's passion and his run-stuffing ability.  It has seemed to me for some time like the missing piece of the puzzle (especially in the playoffs) is a penetrating DT that could line up next to Geno on certain passing downs.

I thought Hardison would be that player, but with him being lost for the season it ended that dream.

You're definitely on point with this. This is probably why we've had so many heavy hybrids that played DE/DT the past 4 or 5 years. It's definitely the new norm for an inside pass rush in the NFL these days. Guys that are good on the inside in passing situations and good at End for running situations.

Believe they drafted Billings with this in mind.

Billing is just another peko a run stuffer who has the ability to get 5-7 sacks a year

Deshaun Williams is the guy.

Yes, Billings and Hardison would have formed a nice rotation at the DT positions but with BOTH lost for the season, it concerns me.

I'm not so sure.  The early reports were that any one man would just get walked back to the QBs lap.

I just wonder how much he will contribute, but I guess that will be who they go with...and Hunt.  Nervous

D. Williams has shown me more pass rush ability in the past 2 pre-seasons than Hardison. Hopefully he can translate in into the season, but first he needs to be good enough to be active each week.

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Hmm, wonder how many teams will audible to a run when they see Hunt in the A gap?

Yeah he's very strong and I love him but he's no geno where he will be in the backfield in under a second. I feel like he's a super athletic peko who can produce 5-7 sacks every year but be putting pressure on the qb a lot more than peko

Maybe we can trade him for Bosa?
