The Pats and Steelers both win in the playoffs. They get it done. The Bengals have not.

Maybe because the steelers and pats had their starting QB in the playoffs?  Just wondering if that has something to do with it in the NFL. 

But it makes sense for me that these guys simply rely on history for their picks...it takes less analysis.  Let's see:  does any of those teams listed have a better defense?  No.  Are any of those teams as balanced on offense?  No.  Special teams?  0-3.  Chip on their shoulder for the schedule?  The assbag coaches fine rescinded? The three game suspension of their star player but no flag for the steeler? 

It all makes sense that no one but the Bengals believes in the Bengals and I am just fine with that...because those predictions don't automatically qualify you for the playoffs.  You have to earn it.  Dalton and the boys will prove themselves again in the regular season and finish it with a playoff run...possibly all the way to a Super Bowl win.  It all comes down to health.

I don't have an issue with the Bengals not being in the discussion, but the Steelers being up there in the discussion is a joke.  It's mainly due to them being a popular team, not because they have a realistic shot.

The Steelers have won multiple Super Bowls under their current regime. Rothlisburger has won two with two different coaches. They won a playoff game last year.

Their last SB win was 8 years ago. This is a what have you done for me lately league.  8 years ago, Peyton Manning was still an elite QB.  

They won a playoff game last year, but needed a TD that the league said shouldn't have counted and several other bs calls to get past a playoff doormat.

It is a team game and if you have your team healthy, you have a shot.  Our team is yet to be healthy heading to a postseason game.  Not an excuse, as they need to overcome injuries, but it is a factor.

The Steelers have been the most consistent organization from the 70s to present.  That's why they get the preferential treatment.  It's a safe prediction to put them in the mix along with the Patriots.

The Pittsburgh franchise birthed in 1933.  They played in one playoff game in 1947 and lost.  Since then, from 1972 to 2015 they have played in 56 playoff games and are 34-22 and are 6-2 in SB appearances.

The Bengals were birthed in 1968.  They have played in 19 playoff games going 5-14 and 0-2 in SB appearances.

The Patriots were birthed in 1960.  They have played in 48 playoff games going 29-19 and 4-4 in SB appearances.
