This is just awful. The dude brought some much needed energy to the game. He was a supreme talent. Everybody loses here. RIP.

Only 24....a boating accident....In the movies people always have last words and get to say good-bye. I've noticed in real life that seldom happens and the last words you say to somebody aren't that great because their death comes as such a shock..He was maybe the best young pitcher in the game....More important now is his Family and Loved Ones...God Bless his Family and help them through this shocking loss.

If you guys didn't see what just happened at the beginning of the Marlins game I suggest you seek out the video. Dee Gordon (bats left) took the first pitch from the right side in Fernandez' helmet. He then switched back over and smashed a hr. His first hr of the year in 303 at bats. Rounded the bases while crying.
