Players restructure their deals as part of trades all the time. Its either management isn't looking into these things, or the players they are targeting wouldn't be willing to restructure to come here.

As I pointed out. These guys are top paid guys late in their career due guaranteed money in a sport where it isn't common. They may be willing to do it for an odds on favorite like NE, but very few other places most guys in this situation would do it for.

Although, they have tried to sign guys like Antonio Bryant and got burned pretty badly.

I still look back on the past 5 years and wonder what the outcome would have been had we addressed a need in free agency...like sign an established center instead of rolling with a 4th Round Rookie Center.

Our 1st Round picks don't see the field...yet a Rookie 4th Round Center does? It wasn't because he had some great camp. It was because he faced little competition.

Exactly.  This coaching staff places importance on certain positions (CB, OL) and leaves the others to be filled with mid to late round picks.  Sometimes it works (Atkins, Iloka, Burfict, Marvin Jones, Peko) and sometimes it fails miserably (CENTER)

You would think they would start to address the worst starter on the team before the 4th round, but they never do.
