The difference is that the deer didn't know any better whereas Ward made his fortune on disreputable, indefensible, and disgusting poor sportsmanship.

That deer was definitely Hines Ward because he only took out 1 runner by accident. If the deer would have been Vontaze, he would have cheap shotted a few of the runners because he knew he had no chance at winning the race.
