2019 Draft Position Set
#1
Bengals pick at #11.

Said this in the game thread yesterday, but the needs are as follows.

1. OL
2. LB
3. More OL
4. More LB
Repeat

Haven't really examined the field to see what OL/LB should be available, but they'll John Ross or Billy Price this pick.

I saw the first round pick is #11, also saw we had same record as a few teams. So, my question for the experts is in round 2 and beyond will we move up and pick earlier as we are 4th team with 6-10 record (same record as 3 other teams) and at some point pick 8th in a round or are we locked in at #11 all 7 rounds?

Free Agency ain't over until it is over.

First 6 years BB - 41 wins and 54 losses with 1-1 playoff record with 2 teams Browns and Pats

How do they determine draft order? Why are we the last 6-10 team who gets to draft?

Strength of schedule decides it.

Correct.  We pick 11th in the 1st, 10th in the 2nd, 9th in the 3rd, 8th in the 4th, back to 11th in the 5th etc.  S curved with the other 6-10 teams.

TY

This is what I hoped, it would make no sense if no S curve.

If the "S" curve with other 6-10 teams is true, then why do the Bills and Broncos pick before us in both rounds 1 and 2?

I am guessing since it shakes out like this for four 6-10 teams:

Rd 1

1. Bills
2. Lions
3. Broncos
4. Bengals

Rd 2
1. Lions
2. Broncos
3. Bengals
4. Bills

Rd 3
1. Broncos
2. Bengals
3. Bills
4. Lions

Round 4
1. Bengals
2. Bills
3. Lions
4. Broncos

Round 5 same as round 1
Round 6 same as round2
Round 7 same as round 3

White is almost a guarantee to go to the Lions IMO.

QB needs to be higher on the needs list. Sorry, but I'm tired of relying on needing an extremely talented team surrounding a QB to win. Maybe not in the draft this year, but a change needs to happen soon. We aren't winning a SB with him.

Per the link that Goalpost provided, your order is not correct.  Who is correct?

http://www.tankathon.com/nfl/full_draft

If you are correct, why do Lions and Broncos pick before Bengals in both round 1 and 2?  Unless I am completely misunderstanding a "S" curve (aka, snake draft)?

For me, its the following at 11...
Jonah Williams, OT Bama
Devin White, LB LSU
Jawaan Taylor, OT Florida

There wouldn’t be a QB I’d want in this draft except maybe Haskins, and even Haskins I’d prefer to sit the bench 1-2 years because I think he needs grooming handling pressure. Next year is the year for QB honestly. Fix the line this year (as best as possible).

Strength of schedule. Ours was the hardest, therefore they assume we were the best of the 6-10 teams.

What are the chances our new HC will want to grab a QB with such a high pick? If the NYG don’t take Haskins will he still be there at 11? Guess it’s unlikely with JAX and DEN also needing a QB.

Hope they can get the LB from LSU if not.

Something close to zero.  Drafting a QB in the first round is a crap shoot, and Bengals have about a dozen problems bigger than QB.

Then you are tired of the NFL.

Every QB needs talent around him to win.

Exactly. At least a couple really good offensive options.
NE has Gronk, Edelman
GB has Adams, Jones, Graham
NO has Thomas, Kamara, Ingram
PIT has Brown, JJSS, Conner
LAR has Gurley, Cooks, Woods
LAC has Allen, Gordon
HOU has Hopkins, Thomas, Miller
KC has Kelce, Hill
SEA has Lockett, Baldwin, Carson

And they have good QB talent.

Totally agree! The draft with Fisher and Ced has set this team back years and it pisses me off this team but so much credibility in Alexander’s opinion. That guy shouldn’t even be allowed to coach a Pop Warner football team. A complete worthless coach
