Allen falls to 9 Mock
#1
This is what I'd do, if Allen fell to 9.

1. J. Allen, Alabama, DT/DE – hands down...yes, BPA, rotate at RE and RT
2. T. Basham, Ohio, DE - yes, another DE, but a really good one.
3. P. Elflein, OSU, C/G - Fills immediate need
4a. T. Bowser, Houston, OLB - adds speed off the edge and in coverage
4b. D. Foreman, Texas, RB - Big and Fast... not my first pick as RB, but oh well, we have other needs
5a. JJ Dielman, Utah, OT - Versatile OLineman
5b. J. Reynolds, Texas A&M, WR - Chris Henry 2.0?
6a. Z. Gonzalez, Arizona State, K – Replace Nuge
6b. KD Cannon, Baylor, WR - speed
7a. D. Fields, Louisville, OLB - if he falls this far, I think you add another pass rusher
7b. Keionta Davis, Chattanooga, DE - and another pass rusher for the PS. Could develop into something special

DEs x 3 ( 1,2, & 7)
OLBs x 2 (4 & 7)
OLine x 2 (3 & 5)
WR x 2 (5 & 6)
RB X 1 (4)
K x 1 (6)
Today I'm TEAM SEWELL. Tomorrow TEAM PITTS. Maybe TEAM CHASE. I can't decide, and glad I don't have to.

Allen makes this defense championship caliber but I love that you drafted multiple pass rushers. This defense needs depth at that position.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

I looked for guys who can bring pressure, yeah. Allen & Basham are different types of DEs, but we can slide Allen inside on 3rd down. Bowser and Fields can both blitz and cover. I think we're fine enough in the secondary. Just need to strengthen the DLine and get faster at LB. Our D needs to get more 3 and outs.  Glad they signed Minter. We should be ready for another run at the playoffs.

Elflein and Dielman are both versatile OLinemen. Dielman played all 3 positions in college, including center. So, we could use Elflein at Guard.

Foreman would be a steal in the 4th.

The WRs are very different, as well. Both can go deep. I don't know if either could beat out Cody Core, but James Wright is gone, opening up a space. We had some WRs on the PS last year, who might get a shot.

I love it, but Bowser could be gone as early as the 1st round.

The only thing I don't like is that the LB's have questionable cover skills, but there's so much talent there that it's probably worth the risk. I might take a flier on a defensive back, probably safety, later on in the draft, but other than it's great. I also think Allen is more of a DT than a DE, which makes sense to take another pass rusher.

I would be happy as heck with Allen at number 9. But I doubt he falls that far. If I was to guess I'd say 1 of the safeties falls either Adams or Hooker to us before Allen.

I honestly like this draft a lot. I'm a defensive guy and believe that a championship defense wins over a championship offense 9 times out of 10. I love that you have us grabbing multiple pass rushers.

1. J. Allen, Alabama, DT/DE – This is a good pick, not my favorite player but offers a lot of versatility. Just worried about the injuries.

2. T. Basham, Ohio, DE  - Another solid pass rush option.
3. P. Elflein, OSU, C/G - A big upgrade on the interior oline
4a. T. Bowser, Houston, OLB - We finally get some solid pass rushing ability from the LB position
4b. D. Foreman, Texas, RB - Not my favorite RB, but could be a nice boost to the rush attack
5a. JJ Dielman, Utah, OT - Heard his name, but do not know much about him.
5b. J. Reynolds, Texas A&M, WR - Nice rangy deep threat
6a. Z. Gonzalez, Arizona State, K  – Upgrade
6b. KD Cannon, Baylor, WR - I think if we grab Reynolds then this spot needs to be another position as Cannon might not have a spot with Boyd, Core, Erickson, and Reynolds as the backups.
7a. D. Fields, Louisville, OLB - Absolutely make this pick as it gives us a pass rush specialist
7b. Keionta Davis, Chattanooga, DE - Nice solid developmental piece. However not sure we need another DE at this point. I would probably grab a QB if possible.

Looking at this draft there are maybe only a few changes I would make and that's to only grab 1 WR and maybe let the last DE be another position. If I look at the guys you have I might change Dielman out with a CB adn then maybe grab an olinmen at Cannons spot and then Davis would be switched with a QB.

Overall solid job.

I know this is already DE heavy draft but what do you think of taking Daeshon Hall here if Bowser is gone?

That's what was said about Billings too.
