Another Taylor?

I'm talking about present day, not the year he got here. I suspect if they offered Wade Phillips the job, he's be more than happy to take it.

We gave up like 4000 yds rushing the last game of the season. You like what you saw that day?

Dude, do you have problems reading or what. I clearly said I like "a lot" of what I saw. I didn't say I liked everything. Take a Xanax already.

Which is why I said Taylor being too loyal to Lou could cost him. If it was me, and my job was on the line, I’d want the much more proven guy in Philips here immediately.

Zach is happy with how defense is going so why replace the DC

And if your designing plays your players cant execute thats bad coaching.

You will have to show me where this is an ongoing problem. The Bengals run a lot of quick, timing passes so the onus is on the QB to read the defense and know where he's most likely to go, presnap. That's the reason they all break at the same time. It's not a 'progression' route as much as it's a presnap decision route.

On longer developing plays, they look no different than any other team.

The Bengals were #11 in passing yards per game leading into the week before Burrows injury. We moved the ball fairly well. Where we NEED to improve is redzone... we ranked near the bottom in points. Also need to fix that rushing attack.

I think we saw potential last year, but still a lot of room for improvement.

Keep in mind, we were 1st in pass attempts at this time.

So, while being 11th in passing yards is by no means terrible, it's put into much greater persperctive when you consider that we threw the ball more than any other team.

You'd be hard pressed to find any team ever that leads in the league in pass attempts, or rush attempts, and isn't in the top half of the league in yardage for their respective leading category.

Not really. You're talking a failure in design. I'm not seeing a failure in design.

Failure in blocking, tackling and execution, sure.

Ya that’s true, but I can’t blame them for throwing so much when our yards per rush attempt was rank 29 at that time, and that includes the JAX game.

It’s damned if you do damned if you don’t for Taylor at that time. He either:
A) ran the ball to try and save Burrow, but that meant for sure no wins
B) try to save his job by doing what worked, throw a lot. and put Burrow at risk

Add some balance to this offense and I’d assume the effectiveness of the passing goes up, so maybe we end up ranking higher in passing yards because of an efficiency factor.

At the end of the day, I was OK with how the passing game looked. It’s not KC or BUF, but it was good.
