Bengals sign CFL interception leader

Alas, his coverage and pass rushing skills were virtually non-existent, thus someone like that will not stick around in the league...

Your analysis of Jeanty is correct, but when we signed him he was supposed to be a pass rush specialist.

Rose is fast, is a natural ball hawk and supported the run very well. Oh and yes, he tackles well. Premier corner in the CFL.

I bash the Bengals as much as anyone, but this is a smart pickup - zero risk and he has a legit shot to make the roster.

And he is a winner - played exceptional through the playoffs and the Grey Cup game which we of course won.

I think the Bengals worked out 8 players from the CFL , thye have not done that for years or ever and it should be common practice -  there are some gems up here.

It probably helps to have your father-in-law having recently been a HC in the CFL. Should be some good knowledge and connections to tap into there.

Come on, man:

- Jeanty (named in this thread)
- Kyries Hebert (named in this thread)
- Baby Hawk (named in this thread)
- Rashaun Simonise (didn't amount to anything, but still looked at)
- Diontae Spencer
- Louchiez Purifoy
- Matt O'Donnell

I mean, they've done this for a long time:

These guys always come off as quiet and humble in their first interviews when they get here. I keep hoping someone like Rose would come in loud and proud with a WWE type first interview...…. I'm here to catch interceptions and gift myself to the women of Cincinnati, Oh Yeah!!!  etc etc etc. It would be hilarious....

I remember hoping that O'Donnell would pan out and eventually make the roster. Dude was a giant!

Indeed, he's been great up here (making CFL All-Star team a couple of times) and he even had 2 NBA tryouts!

Plus, when we got him, he was 6'9-6'10. He's now 6'11!

A touch of Chad's chutzpah (before the act wore thin later on).  Sending the Browns' secondary Pepto-Bismol?  Hysterical.  Give me some of that swagger.

The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

My guess is he wont make the team and will end up on the practice squad.

Yeah, now tell me an interview like that from the Bengals locker room wouldn't have people pissing themselves they would laugh so hard. As many players that are Pro Wrestling fans, I'm surprised it hasn't happened..... Jake the Snake does an awesome Randy Savage... (I won't post it here due to language, but if you want a great laugh, google it and listen to Jake talk about Savage and the cobra)

When Macho met Ms. Elizabeth for the 1st time, she was working at Sin The's Sports Center in Lexington. Savage showed up for his workout, and she commented about how red his eyes were (he must have had a big night). His response... "You should see them from this side!" What a character.....

LOL

One thing I lament is that he didn't live to be part of the shoot interview/podcast circuit; Lanny had a bit of insight into how he was on his YouShoot, but hearing stories and situations from the horse's mouth would've been PHENOMENAL.

"Bengals sign CFL interception leader" and if Tampa Bay parts ways with Jameison we can sign the NFL interception leader.
