Will Impeachment hearings begin soon for Joe Biden?
#21
(03-26-2024, 06:03 PM)Luvnit2 Wrote: The impeachment inquiry exposed the lies of Joe Biden in his 2020 campaign. The intent (unlike Democrats with Trump) was never to throw hm in jail. It was to show he is corrupt. Check out the polls and mission accomplished, 67% think Biden did something illegal or unethical.

In Biden's case, this political exercise by Comer, Smith and Jordan hurt Biden's electability. Next step is getting Joe Biden to testify in front of the committee and for audio tapes of Hur investigation and also audio tapes of ghost writer turned over to the committee.

National Archives has also refused to turn over all email of Joe Biden using a pseudonym (alias). Why is Garland and the National Archives not turning over innocent documents and recordings?

Hunter Biden showed he is a coward after demanding a public hearing. He got it and wet the bed and stayed home.

It is an easy comparison of fairness and Democrats had and are currently treated versus how Republicans had and have been treated. One gets shielded by the FBI and DOJ and one gets raided and arrested by the FBI and DOJ.

that is never supposed to be the goal of a Congressional hearing but you sad it...it was a political game to hurt Biden's reelection chances.  And keeping the innuendoes alive is more important to the 3 Stooges than actual guilt or innocence which is why there will never be an impeachment vote before Nov.

And the President of the United States is not going to testify in front of a Congressional hearing

Garland is the Attorney General.  He does not have power over the Archives

Why should Hunter Biden sit there and be publically insulted for hours by House Republicans?  He provided the required testimony they way they wanted

No one will wonder why this Congress has been the most ineffective in history; they have made it clear they have no intention of doing their jobs.

The 117th, was a very very active one (and an anomaly), but they are on par with the 116th which was also a very active one in total legislature. In order to beat the pace they are on, you'd have to go all the way back to the 95th.

Being active does not equate to being effective.

Being out of power benefits the mystique of the current GOP so much that they may be hoping the lose enough members to lose control of the house ASAP so they can go right back to promising that they have all the answers IF ONLY they were in power.  I've made this comparison before, but the modern democrats are like a middling veteran starting QB while the Trump era republicans are like the 3rd string undrafted rookie QB who has no tangible reason he could be good but he COULD be awesome for all we know and we already KNOW we're gonna win 8 or 9 games tops with the boring guy who is playing now so why not see what we have in the kid?

Of course, we all know how often the mystery kid on the bench loses his luster when he's actually called upon to move from our fantasies to reality.

Comer gives Joe Biden an opportunity to clear up his involvement in the family business? He invited him to testify. Will Joe chicken out like Hunte or turn coat and run away?

An opportunity, sure. Which turns to republicans just lambasting Biden and finishing with the question if he has no shame. Creating tons of dramatic soundbits for FOX. Of course Joe Biden is not going to do that, why on earth would he.

If he has the evidence he doesn't need Joe to testify.

It won't matter because NO president is going in front of a Congressional committee to testify

The other reason to keep pushing the scam impeachment idea...

Comer is trying to make money with a book called "All the President's Money"

https://www.axios.com/2024/03/29/comer-book-deal-biden-probe

Quote:House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) is in discussions with at least one publisher about a book deal at the same time that he is leading the Biden impeachment probe, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: Comer's impeachment investigation of Biden is looking like a dud — but Republicans insist they plan to keep pressuring Biden over family money ties into 2025. A book would be a high-profile way to do that.
  • Comer has led the impeachment probe into Biden. His look into potential influence peddling by the Bidens included scrutiny about the president's past book deals.
Behind the scenes: The project came to light when a source pointed Axios to a page on the HarperCollins website that shows placeholder cover for a book by Comer with a provocative title, "All the President's Money," and a supposed publication date of Sept. 10.
  • But no book is imminent and there's no book deal, Comer's staff tells Axios.
  • "The link was put up in error by Harper Collins," Comer spokesman Austin Hacker tells Axios. "It was not authorized by Congressman Comer and he immediately requested it be taken down."
Yes, but: The spokesman admitted that Comer has been in talks with the publisher about a potential book deal:
    • "Although he has been in discussions with Harper Collins about a potential book, he has not entered into a publishing agreement with any publisher including Harper Collins."
    • While Comer's team says no book is written, a source familiar with Comer's plans said he hopes to publish a book in the future about his political experiences.
  • What we're watching: Democrats are sure to complain about Comer mixing roles as impeachment architect and prospective author.
    • Axios has reached out to HarperCollins for comment.
