Well, ol' PM Johnson lost his working majority while he was speaking on the floor of the House of Commons.

With this much winning he could be US President.

Quote:JEREMY Corbyn and Tory rebels last night threw out Boris Johnson’s demands for a snap election and rammed through laws to stop a No Deal Brexit.

The PM’s bold rallying cry to go to the polls was rejected by MPs who claimed he was setting them a “trap”.

Only 298 MPs opted for an election - far short of the two thirds of MPs (434) he needed to get it through.

The vote was lost after Corbyn ordered his MPs to abstain in the knowledge this would prevent Boris getting the two thirds majority he needed.

The decision to abstain rather than vote against BoJo's proposal was a vain move to dodge accusations the Labour leader is being cowardly by turning down the chance to fight the PM in an election.

It's the first time an Opposition party has ever not voted for an election.

Boris demanded to go to the country rather than accept Corbyn’s demands to go cap in hand back to Brussels in just six weeks’ time.

Speaking to ITV’s Robert Peston last night, Boris mocked Corbyn, saying he may need to “get out the chicken suit”.

And he claimed he believed Labour would be so “consumed by cowardice” they would fold and back a poll.

If Jeremy Corbyn is against something then it's almost a dead solid lock it's something intelligent people should be for.

England is a complete mess. They see themselves way prettier than they are. This country had been fed by their colonies and by the EU. The spalsh will be big. Tremendeous splash.

Johnson lost everything yesterday and because some politicians put the country above party.

He will be the shortest PM ever in the UK.

You can't work with perpetual lies in every country.

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

What does it mean when the majority are against something and Corbyn is too?  That the majority isn't "intelligent"?

The EU rather comes off like the mafia here.  You made an oath, you can't ever leave!

Yes.

So the elected officials who are no longer doing what the people want?  The people who elected them?

lol

The EU didn't say they could never leave.

That's disingenuous. The EU certainly has some bullyish behavior going on, but it's not because they are saying that the UK can't leave. They are just trying to make an example out of them. There is a difference in that. The leave campaign lied to the people and now they are having to deal with those consequences and the EU is not doing anything to make it easier on them.

I believe the result of the referendum was "Leave".

Sure, they'll just hurt you as badly as possible if you try.

yep.  Did the people elect officials after that to enforce it?

Still didn't say "never".  they just said they want a deal...and Boris can't make a deal.

Listening to more on Brexit over the weekend and I wonder how the "we can never have another vote on the referendum" crowd feel about Boris calling for new elections to try and get officials in who will agree with him?

Would seem to me that the people voted for the people in office to make these decisions already.

I understand they can "call" for elections and that is past practice while the referendum was supposedly "the final word" but I also understand that if Boris can't get the deal done he shouldn't just be saying he needs new people to work with.  Especially when even his own people are deserting him right now.

Scottish Court agrees Johnson lied to the Queen.  Now goes to Supreme Court.

He's such a tool.
