Bus Songs
#1
When I went to school at St. Cathrines we went on a field trip to the Children's Museum in Columbus. I think it was fourth grade maybe fifth grade but I'm not sure, it could have been sixth, so around 1979 through 1981. Anyway, we sung this song on the way up and back and I'm wondering if anyone else knows it and if they have their own memories from long ago.

Two Irishmen, two Irishmen
Digging in a ditch
One called the other
A dirty son of a
Murphy, Murphy was a wonderful dog
Sold him to a lady to keep her company
She beat him she bopped him and tied him to a rock
Along came a bumblebee and stung him on the
Cocktail, ginger ale five cents a glass
If you don't like it you can kiss me on the
Ask me no questions and I will tell no lies
If you get hit by a bucket of shit
Be sure to close your eyes

Never heard it, but that is a real toe tapper.
JOHN ROBERTS: From time to time in the years to come, I hope you will be treated unfairly so that you will come to know the value of justice... I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.

Wow, I guess you guys are all younger than I and everyone had Walkmen, iPod's or cell phones.

That's kind of sad when you think about it. When I was in school while on the bus we talked to each other and made up songs on long trips. Now, everyone just keeps to themselves and communicates by texting. And if you're older, then your school sucked if you didn't do this.

Hell, maybe it was just my school, who knows.

Oh well.
