Pretty crazy that he's heading into his 7th NFL season and will be just 27.

Could be a good signing. Just needs to stay healthy.

He is certainly a player with talent. Good signing wish that it were for a couple of years.

Goodberry likes it FWIW.

Apparently this is the dude everyone wanted to put a waiver claim in for a couple years ago.

Might be the end of Eli Apple in Cincinnati.

Young experienced corner that has quality play in the NFL. Never going to hear me complain about adding more corners.
I have the Heart of a Lion! I also have a massive fine and a lifetime ban from the Pittsburgh Zoo...

I loved him coming out of college. Hopefully he can show that promise here under Lou.

Another potentially good value signing
So far the outside signings have been 2 DBs and 2 O linemen, right?
These are two of the most important position groups in today’s NFL where teams always need a lot of depth to make it through the season.

Yep, I know nothing about this kid, but if Lou thinks he will fit I'm good with it.

If he’s smart and can cover ground he’ll do find. I know nothing of him but if Lou thinks he fits I’ll trust Lou.

He's every bit an Apple replacement level. Versatile. Can play both boundaries and slot. Physical when he needs to be but doesn't really look to jump into the action if others are there. I watched a couple games and if he can stay healthy, this could be a really good signing.

Nice ball skills.  No clips of him coming up and tackling but I'm taking that as a given. Nobody plays corner for Lou who doesn't tackle.

I think it's a good signing.  You can't have enough of those guys.

Thanks, Nicomo.

He and Eli will push each other, which can only be a good thing.

I hope we still sign Eli Apple. Sidney's only played a full season once in 6 seasons, with 1 game in 2017, 9 games in 2018, 12 in 2019, 9 in 2020, 16 in 2021 and 10 in 2022, for 4 different teams...

Eli is likely gone.

We don’t need him to play a full season. The starters are Chido, CTB, Hilton. He just needs to fill in until Chido is ready, or if other injuries happen.

So he’s like the football spinoff of Nick Senzel.

Corresponding PFF scores:
2017 (1 game): 50.7
2018 (9 games): 47.5
2019 (12 games): 63.5
2020 (9 games): 68.1
2021 (16 games): 70.2
2022 (10 games): 51.3

Apple last 3: 55.3 (2020), 60.9 ('21), 52.9 ('22).
Flowers last 3: 54.4, 51.3, 58.6 (2020, '21, '22)

I am not sure this means the end for Apple. Contract details will shed some light. It could be the end for Flowers, J. Davis, or George. Eli is likely the most expensive of the bunch, however.

One thing is that if we think Jones has boundary/slot versatility, we could go light at corner and only carry 5 instead of 6. With Hill's ability to play the slot, we'd still have 6 rostered guys who could play corner. Might allow us to go heavier sonewhere else (DL, for instance).
