Interesting.  Would you like to fill me in?  I havent been around much.

Also, did you even read my post? I spent an entire paragraph saying that I'm not blaming the team.

The fact that our QB posted a 114.0 rating with 366 yards in the first game without Eifert (against a stout D) is a big reason why I'm not too concerned about Eifert yet. Not to mention that Eifert was pretty much a non-factor against the Steelers last year (0 TDs in 3 games, 49 yards per game).

I don't think even the most optimistic estimates had him back in week 2 or 3, so with him being "a couple weeks away" (according to Holic's post), I'd say he's right where we should expect right now. If this were week 4 instead of week 2, I'd understand the pessimism.

To be fair Eifert was working with a backup QB in 2 games and didn't he get a concussion 2 games against Pit or was it only one?

Fair enough, but we won in Heinz without a big contribution from Eifert. Obviously we'd be much better off with TE, but I'm confident we can win without him. That's really all I was suggesting there.

You and I misunderstand each other too much lol; I never post without reading what I'm quoting fully.

I was merely confirming your thought that the team was not to blame, but I can't remember who made the call to not have surgery. I do remember that someone mentioned that the more common and best way to deal with this, is to let it heal without surgery.

But, Eifert is a shitty healer, so no surprise why it didn't work.

We probably need to move beyond Eiffert. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect him to ever be a productive Bengal again.

Lotta people seem to consider Eifert fragile. I don't agree. TE might be the toughest place to stay healthy on the field. Blocking bigger guys. carching passes in traffic, spending lots of time in the middle of the field, where MLB's are trying to separate you from your senses or DB's are trying to take out your knees. TE's all over the league suffer the same fate. It's not just Eifert and Gronk. It's all of them.

Now I am really worried.

The "I" at the top of the post may seem random, but it is obviously a symbol for the "Eye of Providence" meaning that this post carries the authority of the Illuminati.

Either that or it is just a slack-jawed steeler fan troll who does not know how to type.

You are expecting people not to give opinions in a forum that is based on opinions? If you look closely, I gave you my expectation based on how these situations usually turn out. Lets make a deal. I will stop making any predictions of any kind and so will you. Fair enough?

Eifert was seen running routes before the Steelers game. Encouraging.

Update, Eifert practiced all week which he would not have been allowed to do if placed on IR. For those who said he should have been on IR, you mat be very wrong if he plays prior to game 7. It appears he plays part time maybe as early as next Thursday night.

I can't say that I ever saw anyone saying he should have gone on IR.  I did see many posts about putting him on PUP, but then he wouldn't be eligible to practice right now either, so I do think they took the proper course of action.

Based on Marvin's comments about giving him limited snaps, my guess is that he is active for the Miami Thursday game and gets limited snaps, then has more than a full week to evaluate the impact it made on the ankle before the next game.

I saw some over the top comments about him being done for the season.  Probably Big Pappa Kaine or Bigzoman.

I am guessing we don't see him until the Dallas game.  Marvin said it was not going to be an "iffy" decision, and if Eifert is definitely out for Sunday I don't know how they could be 100% certain he would be ready to go just 100 hours later on Thursday night.

I'm as big an Eifert fan as anyone, but he is injury prone. Freak accidents or not, he always seems to get injured. I'm hoping the team re-ups him, but I also hope they're very careful on price.

I don't want them to rush him back, but we need him back as soon as he's ready to go. Hopefully he's back after Miami.

Because he would have a few more practices under his belt for Marvin to make a decision.

If you haven't practiced fully during the course of the week, Marvin hates the idea of you being in the game.  If you haven't practiced fully during the course of the week and you haven't worked since February, he certainly won't play you.  But a guy with Tyler's talent participating in the practices, fully or limited, for two games of prep is enough to put him in the game as a situational player (think red zone).  This coincides with what Marvin said about being on limited snaps when he reaches the game day roster.

I don't know the team practice schedule, but generally speaking the end of the week has the red zone period, and Tyler practiced at the end of this week.  If he practices during the red zone period of the Miami install and does fine, he will have presumably proven that he is good to go in that situation.  Thus there is no reason to not have him active as a specialist provided Special Teams is not jeopardized by him taking an active spot.

You are correct, Ml did say that and also stated when he comes back, he will be playing part time which to me says they are thinking sooner rather than later activating him and giving him some playing time to ease him back in.
