If there was no proven connection then why did the Judge order one of them to step down? 
She was benefiting from the relationship with Wade over this case. 

The Bar will come after her when this case has a verdict, then Trump will appeal and she will be under review and because she will be under review, that will give Trump a foot in the door on his appeal. It's all there now.

Phrases like "odor of mendacity" don't really strike much of a chord with those unaware of the depth of severity in those words.

Indeed, especially when one considers how staid the wording of a court's ruling is under normal circumstances.  The judge's ruling was the legal equivalent of saying this woman is grimy as hell, open season on her.
