For those that think Tees value is going down
#1
He was voted as the most underrated player in the NFL.

https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/allbengals-insiders-plus/nfl-players-name-tee-higgins-leagues-most-underrated-player

"Sometimes on-field production doesn’t always lead to players getting the respect they deserve," the article read. "Regardless of how well some perform, their names aren’t brought up as much when discussing the top guys at their respective positions. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins led the vote, but there are a multitude of players who received recognition among their peers for being underrated."

The talented wideout is in a contract season as he projects to be the top free-agent wide receiver available this coming offseason.

He's had a down year production-wise (27 catches, 328 yards, two scores), but the NFL knows what kind of player he can be.

Tee can do anything short of dropping trou in the endzone and shooting a literal deuce on the field and will still get paid this offseason.

All that means is tag and trade is still possible. Which in turn means they have got to see if Yoshi has what it takes to be an effective WR starter and do the same for Chuck Sizzle.

Yeah, wasn't happy to see that today.

Hopefully they are able to get him re-signed without using the tag, but it seems to me that might be the only route to keeping him around for another season.

Rather have a competent guard and a rb that can break a tackle and get to the edge.

Both touchdowns in the Super Bowl were scored by Tee Higgins. That counts for a lot too because he comes up big in the biggest games.

Think we got too many holes now for the luxury that Tee was.

With his injury history and what he wants to be paid... I'm cool with a sign and trade if it happens.

I call him Chuck fizzle until he does something at WR.

Little off topic, but Patrick Mahomes disagrees with the “anybody” at WR meme this season. Wink

Tee is getting a nice contract no matter what else happens this season.

I think Mahomes would agree more that "anybody" at OT is worse. They have had their problems with drops, but their offensive decline is pretty significantly tied to both of their new starting OTs being very bad this year.

Donovan Smith is his LT and is ranked 60th with a 55.4 and Jawaan Taylor is his RT and is ranked 71st with a 51.5 grade according to PFF. (Reminder that Cordell Volson has a 51.1, so imagine two ever-so-slightly-better Cordell Volsons as both of your OTs. Lol)

They have a combined TWENTY-ONE penalties already this year already just between the two of them. That's more than 2 per game. The entire Bengals team only has 50 penalties this year.

Well that’s a bit of an understatement. They’re currently leading the league in drops with 23. Which is 5 more than the next closest team. It’s already directly cost them a couple wins, and has been one of the main reasons their offense keeps shitting the bed in the 2nd half of games.

As bad as their OT’s have been, Pat is usually the best in the league as far as pressures to sacks go. He can overcome pressures, but he can’t do anything about his WR’s being a bunch of bums.

I saw someone on twitter jokingly say that if the Chiefs could draft WR’s like the Bengals, and the Bengals could draft OL like the Chiefs, they would both have unstoppable offenses. So true.

Hope Tee does get a nice contract, like the kid. Yet if he does not get back up to looking like his old self and with his injury history well known.

It will not be as big of contract as if he had a healthy season. Always felt he would be in the 20 -25 million dollar a season range before injury and the pedestrian season so far.

I think KC would go hard after Tee if he hits FA.

Tee was selected as the most underrated but he only received 5% of the vote, which is 4 players out of the 76 that answered the question.
That said he is most likely one of the top free agents, #1 WR, this offseason.

KC has an extremely good IOL, though, which mitigates a lot of the issues with the T's.  Mahommes can always climb the pocket to escape the outside pressure.

He will still get the same value of contract. The injuries this year have no long term ramifications on his playing style, like an ACL or Achilles would.

A guy going into his age 25 season that, at his best, has proven to be one of the best 50/50 guys in the league is something that doesn’t come around often. If he hits FA, he will be a top 10, likely top 5, paid WR in the league.
