Helsinki--the Tipping Point?

If one (or all) of the good guys doesn't die, then it is  a bad movie in Russia. George R.R. Martin was made for Russian movies!

It was part of a history of film class I had to take in college.

We had to watch "A Clockwork Orange" for one of my psychology courses. I can never listen to "Singing in the Rain" the same way again.

Answer: All of them.

Question: How many NATO allies were attacked during 9/11?
Answer: None. But they supported us because WE were attacked. They sent sons and daughters to die in a shit hole on the other side of the world.... because WE were attacked.

That is what is known as having an ally.

Whoa, I've got to check this one B-Zona.

What are we supposed to do about hyper aggressive countries like MONTENEGRO who may be joining NATO because they know they will need back up?  They have been a special thorn in Russia's side, and accepting them into NATO puts one more obstacle in the path of good relations with Russia. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/18/russias-deadly-plot-overthrow-montenegros-government-assassinating/. Putin's interference in US elections pales in comparison to what he has done there.

Why go to war over a teeny tiny ally that sent less than 40 personnel to Afghanistan?  Why irritate a country whose leader our leader gets along with?

Fortunately, Trump can see the case clearly without a "helpful" filter from our NATO allies.

Time to start planning our foreign policy without NATO interference.

OMG!  I rented that (on VHS, because I'm old) while in college.  Never watched the whole thing...sounded to disturbing for my taste.

I do believe I rewound it before returning though.  Smirk

-Said "Don't see why Russia would interfere"

-Most GOP totally not ok with this

-Apparently meant "don't see why Russia WOULDN'T interfere"...

-But also it could be others...

-Most GOP totally ok with this explanation

-Russia not targeting the US... even though intelligence agencies say they are

Watching Sarah Sanders right now.

At today's press conference Trump did not say "no" in repose to question as to whether Russian interference continues. Two hours later, today's "no" was only in response to further questions.* (corrected the date error.)

Trump absolutely agrees that Russia interfered in our elections. He has been incredibly tough on Russia and called them out many times for election interference.

Many times.

He agrees they are still meddling and is taking a very tough stance on that.  He has made clear to Putin that he should stay out of US elections.

The war on press hyperbole continues . . .

With in hours:

Trump: "Russia isn't targeting us anymore"
Sanders: "Obviously the President knows they're still trying to meddle"

Yes hours. I thought he said that yesterday.

Sanders will hold another press conference at 6pm to explain my correction. LMAO

good thing there were no record keepers in that meeting. it would be terrible if a party misspoke and further clarification was necessary.

What in the actual funk is going on here?

From a Trump appointee the other day.. The warning light is blinking we are under attack.

I feel like we should be in the streets with pitch forks and torches for a good old fashioned witch hunt. Only this time there is video evidence

There are armed Americans in the streets, they're just on Trump's side.

I knew there was a good reason we were letting all those scumbag criminal children out of the for profit walmart prisons. Making room for the real threat

Oh yeah sure you don't, that came out all wrong. I wanted to say, you believe something to be important for that (for lack of a better word) Breitbart segment of Trump supporters, while I think there is no original sin Trump could commit with them. Him appearing "weak" doesn't seem to be. If you believe it is, then I think you took the argument more seriously than those who it's usually aimed for.

I would say Mexico, but in these times I'm not sure if Trump didn't just forget a "not". I'm also quite convinced he actually wanted to contradict Hillary being locked up.
Yeah now sure, you'll pay for it. Better start saving.

Oh that could very well be argued. They talk multiple times a week, I've heard. I know there's more on FOX, but I doubt folks like Lou Dobbs will take a harder stance than Hannity. And the only serious journalist I know there is this Wallace guy, and him and Shepard Smith (I know way too many FOX people) won't turn the ship around. The order would have to come from above.

That is why there is such paralysis among them--Trump is terrible, incompetent, a vulgar and mean person, a pathological liar, but who else could they possibly vote for if he is the Republican candidate?

That sounds about right. Which is quite a strong argument for not believing in any kind of tipping point. That, in my view, maybe only could happen if some of the many people who usually don't vote at all take a stance. I lost my hope in the kind of guys I mentioned before as being crucial, that doesn't seem to happen - liberal folks and their bias, hypocricy etc. already are the far bigger concern again, already these things are back to being more important than the 'overblown' Helsinki blunder that is forgotten within a week. And that someone who stuck with Trump that long would now switch sides, I cannot believe that. The trench has been dug far too deep.

Keep up the good faith.
