Former Bengal great Amani Bledsoe is on the Falcon's PS. Another former great, Noah Spence, is on the street.

If we sign someone new, even to a pro-rated contract, it likely outs us iver, or very close to over.  And that is assuming there is no dead cap number in the guy who gets released to make room.

Unless it is a situation where we are putting a guy on IR,,I do mot see a new signing. And since we likely only have room for one, I think we will wait to make it until we absolutely have to/we lose someone for the year. If we burn our 1 move now and then lose someone later, we are screwed.

So I think we will roll with Sample, Ossai, & Gunter at DE. Maybe see some of Carter at DE. And see more of Tupou & Tufele this week. And more 3 man fronts on passing downs. Also I'd expect a callup from the PS at DE.

Next man up. Try to hold the fort until Trey & Sam get back. Hopefully CTB & Hilton & Davis are all good to go this week. I thought George played pretty well, again, last week.

I thought the Bengals had 3.7 mil cap space but it has been a while since I checked. They can restructure Hendrickson contract to create more space I believe.

We have Raymond Johnson III sitting on the practice squad. Johnson played 15 games last season with the Giants. The team would likely elevate him before signing someone off the street

According to Spotrac, Bengals only have $184k in estimated cap remaining.

According to Over The Cap we have $2MIL

WTS there's money to be freed. Since Volston seems to be working out we can part ways with Scharping. Releasing Clay Johnson and Joe Bachie could save us money. The Bengals most likely won't sign anyone, but it's not because they don't have/ can't find the Cap

Moving the Chains did their weekly interview with their sports medicine doctor today and he talked about it. It was not good news. He said calf strains are worse than hamstrings, and have more tendency to reoccur and be nagging. We may not see Hurst or Hubbard either one the rest of the year

Johnson and Bachie can't be released. They both are outstanding on STs and are reliable linebackers if we lose Wilson or one of the others in front of them

Tufele and BJ Hill can shift outside.

Obvious added snaps for Gunther and Zach Carter

Against Bucs we put Hill on the outside a lot so I’m assuming we’d be looking for a DT to just finish the season

Tyler Shelvin would be my guy if he’s in shape

We are not releasing our #3 OG so we can sign a #6 DE who is only gonna play for 2-3 weeks, max. And may not be better than our PS guys. That is just silly. What happens if something happens to Cappa or Volson? Yeesh. Carman would be playing. Yikes.

Bachie & Johnston are core special teams players. We are not releasing both to sign a DE who cannot fill their roles on specials. This is not Madden.

We will elevate someone from the PS. Play more 3 man fronts. Play Hill and/or Carter wide some. We'll see more of Tupou & Tufele inside. Pats are run first anyway. And we will try to see where Hendrickson is before Buffalo. If the D really struggles, hope the O can pick them up.

This is a major blow, Hubbard is a master at containing QB's on top of everything else he brings to the table.
