Did you hear about the bounty hunter out here in Phoenix?
He assembled a team of 11 other bounty hunters and busted into a house of a guy with warrants on him for drug dealing, illegal weapons, etc. Except that, they got the wrong house. Instead they stormed the home of the former Phoenix Chief of Police. Additionally, they found out that the license of the bounty hunter who got the group together had expired. Often warrants are generated if you have outstanding fines or court costs. If that is the case, stop by your county clerk's office and make a payment and they will likely kill the warrant and as long as you continue to make payments you should be fine. If it was for something like failure to appear, then you will just need your attorney (or PD) to get another court date set for you and show up.

I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.

And the police could have failed to check him for warrants, but I got the impression that the police told him there was a warrant but did not arrest him. Maybe I just misinterpreted what he was saying.

Not sure exactly what SSF means under California law, but here when the crime is not serious enough to justify an arrest the person is written a citation with a court date. Like a traffic violation, but they are also written for very minor crimes like trespassing, simple possession, or shoplifting.

The purpose of this is to have law enforcement, if they have contact with the person, notify them of the warrant so they can resolve it. If they don't resolve it it will prevent them from doing things such as renewing their drivers license or vehicle registration. As for my point about CA law, I can only speak to what is done in CA, things are done differently in other states. My statement was meant to clarify that I can't definitively speak on laws outside of CA.

Well I was sittin' in a coffee shop, just havin' a cup to pass the time. Swappin' rodeo stories with this ole cowboy friend of mine. When some motor-cycle riders started snickerin' in the back Started pokin' fun at my friend's hat. One ole boy said hey Tex, where'd you park your horse. My friend just pulled his hat down low, but they couldn't be ingnored. One husky fellow said, I think I'll rip that hat right off your head. That's when my friend turned around, and this is what he said... You'll ride a black tornado, cross't the western sky Rope an ole blue norther and milk it till it's dry Bull dawg the Mississippi, pin it's ears down flat... Long before you take this cowboy's hat... Now partner, this ole hat is better left alone, See it used to be my daddy's, but last year he passed on. My nephew skinned the Rattler that makes up this ole hatband, But back in 69 he died in Vietnam Now the eagle feather was given to me by an indian friend of mine But someone ran him down somewheres round that Arizona line And a real special lady gave me this hat pin But I don't know if I'll ever see her again. You'll ride a black tornado, cross't the western sky Rope an ole blue norther and Milk it till it's dry Bull dawg the Mississippi pin it's ears down flat... Long before you take this cowboy's hat Now if your leather jacket means to you what this hat means to me Then I guess we understand each other, and we'll just let it be. But if you still think it's funny, man, you got my back up against the wall. And if you touch my hat, you're gonna have to fight us all... Well, right then I caught a little sadness in that gang leaders eyes, And he turned back t'wards the others and they all just sorta shuffled on outside But when my friend turned back t'wards me, I noticed his old hat brim Well it was turned up... In a big ole texas grin You'll ride a black tornado cross't the western skies Rope an ole blue norther, milk it till it's dry Bull dawg the Mississippi, pin it's ears down flat Long before you take this cowboy's hat.
