It's time to admit...

This team is just NOT very good.
How can they look so dominant in the first half, only to look equally inept in the second half? The defense gave up 576 yards of offense, including 18 points in the 4th quarter to Ryan Fitzpatrick. Hell, if he played the whole game, the Bengals probably lose by 20.
The win is nice, but better not get used to them, because it's starting to look like they're going to be MUCH harder to come by.

In the words of The Tuna, you are what your record says you are.

Not saying we don't have issues, but we earned that 5-3 record.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

I think injuries are mounting up and affecting team chemistry. They do not have great depth at some positions like backer.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

This team stinks. Squeaking into the playoffs to get blown out is not a successful season. We need some rebuilding ASAP.

No matter how good or bad the other team is if we win its going to be a close nail biter. We can beat the other team ass in the first half and come out and lay an egg in the second half. It has to be coaching and being conservative since its been this way for many years it must fall in Marvin lap.

Absolutely they are hurting.

It is tough enough getting by with such a bad OL and then pile on all the other injuries it becomes tough quickly.

But you know the team is still on pace for a 10-6 season and has a bye week to get healthy.

Who put the first round draft pick curse on us lately anyway, Og-boo-hi, Will-Jack, Ross, and now Price too, were all injured out of the gate.

No, this is the epitome of a GOOD team.  You don't go 5-3 if you are not good.  They have some elite/very good players throughout the roster who do their job superbly.  What they don't seem to be is a GREAT team - to pull that off you need great coaching and a great system for all phases.

That is a good point.  First rounders have been injured.

Losing Lawson, Eifert, Kroft, Gio, Dennard, Vigil, and Kirk is playing hurt.  Those are key players, difference makers.  Especially Eifert.  But the DC is pretty bad.  Secondary coaches are not putting players in right position.  Then there is the tackling issue.  They need another difference maker on defense because Burfict is a shell of his old self.

This team does not suck lol we are on a thin line to being great actually. You guys just want to blow everyone away to the playoffs i guess, thats not how it always works. #1 this is a offensive league more then ever now, nobody is holding anyone below ten anymore. #2 we are a couple pieces on offense away from a elite offense, we had it before eifert got hurt, with room to improve. Now the bengals have to make a move if they want to contend. Two receiving options arent going to do it. #3 we got plenty turnovers today which is good, but there still needs some moves on defense, idk if vontaze can get good for us before playoffs or not. We need to try new guys bottom line. Why not malik jefferson,he gots good speed and can tackle.

How can they only look good one half?  You mean like they did against Miami?  Baltimore?  Indy?  And now Tampa?

It is called coaching.  They are not disciplined and they are not prepared.

This team has major flaws defensively, and of course the front office is being true to its stubborn “everything is fine” nature. Guys who were supposed to be able to count on keep getting hurt, but nah there’s no need to maybe make a move to shore up an injury plagued position. Everything isn’t fine and this shit is going to catch up to us come Week 10 and on. We have a good shot to make the post season but we can’t go limping into it like the years before.

Everyone is glossing over the fact we lost our best offensive lineman for the 2nd half.... so now what was a questionable line is now without Boling and Price....

If we were so bad, we wouldn't have beaten 5 other NFL teams.

We have warts and injuries are killing us right now, but this is a good team. They just need to work on consistency and adjustments.

I don't see 5 more wins with the remaining schedule.  Would love to see it happen. Most think Broncos a win, but Denver played the Chiefs twice and lost by 4 one game, and 7 the other.

They lost to the Rams by 3 points.

The defense is what the defense is. They're going to give up a lot of yards and points - period ! The only thing we can hope for is rising to the occasion here and there and the occasional score.

The problem we have to fix is the offense laying a 2nd half egg time and time again. This can't continue and the W's keep coming.

Bottom line is anything can happen. Everyone is saying Brees will destroy us, but Tampa Bay beat them. We CAN win every game left on the schedule if they played to their potential. Now, will they? No... but I think we end up with 9 or 10 wins, which was my pre-season prediction.

Learning to tackle gets this team an easy win yesterday and also beats Pittsburgh. Simple fundamentals...
