Joe Biden commits another potential impeachment offense

House GOP probing if Biden was involved in Hunter's 'scheme' to defy subpoena, potential 'impeachable offense'
The White House said President Biden was ‘certainly familiar with what his son was going to say' when he defied his subpoena

House Republicans are investigating whether President Biden was involved in his son Hunter Biden’s "scheme" to defy his subpoena for deposition earlier this month — conduct, they say, "could constitute an impeachable offense."

"In light of an official statement from the White House that President Biden was aware in advance that his son, Hunter Biden, would knowingly defy two congressional subpoenas, we are compelled to examine as part of our impeachment inquiry whether the President engaged in a conspiracy to obstruct a proceeding of Congress," Comer and Jordan wrote to Siskel.

The subpoenas were both for Hunter Biden's deposition — one from Comer and one from Jordan. The two chairmen planned to hold the deposition in the same room, at the same time.
But later that day, Comer and Jordan pointed to a statement made by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. She was asked whether the president had watched his son’s public statement.

"White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that President Biden was ‘certainly familiar with what his son was going to say,’" they wrote. "Ms. Jean-Pierre declined, however, to provide any further details about the President’s actions on whether the President approved of his son defying congressional subpoenas."

They added, though, that Jean-Pierre’s statement "suggests the President had some amount of advanced knowledge that Mr. Biden would choose to defy two congressional subpoenas."

The chairmen pointed to the criminal code, citing the section which states that it is unlawful to "corruptly…endeavor to influence, obstruct, or impede the due and proper exercise of the power of inquiry under which any investigation or inquiry is being had by…any committee of either House or any joint committee of Congress."

And how is knowing that Hunter was going to keep pushing for an open hearing an impeachable offense? Hunter is an adult and makes his own decisions. He is well past the age that his Daddy can pick him up and make him go. You people are looking for that one golden needle in a huge huge pile of hay. But this take is simply ridiculous

You know you might want to actually read the laws as opposed to just the slanted, sensationalized, liars view proclaimed by FOX to keep you outraged and radicalized. Though for some very sad reason you appear to like living outraged. Sad.

What you are talking about is independent thinking, though. That is not what these folks are in favor of.

This is funny because to me the power of a congressional subpoena lost a lot of standing when members of the congressional GOP defied them. Jordan Gaetz Meadows Nunes are some of the culprits I believe. I had never heard of anybody defying a congressional subpoena until the GOP started doing it to protect a serial sexual assaulter pathological lying narcissist traitor who runs fraudulent charities.

And one of the same hypocrites who defied them is now leading the partisan witch hunt…? Come on now. I don’t think it’s possible for me to have less respect for a person.

Wow. This is just pathetic.

@OP when you claim you're actually all about policies and how Trump's are just better than Biden's, why would you even go down these ridiculous rabbit holes every single time. This, once more, isn't about policy. And it's also not about high crimes or misdemeanors from the president. What is even there? Joe maybe "knew" what his son might do or say regarding a subpoena? Jeez.

I mean, not that it would change anything regarding Joe, who is not his son's almighty supreme commander, but Hunter is even willing to testify in an open session. And I can see why he wouldn't go for a closed session. Seeing what these GOP members are willing to spin, there's little doubt they would distort everything he would say there. Why would they refuse an open session anyways, if not for that very motive? There's no national security involved or anything.

Didn't the same people call closed sessions (closed for national security reasons) the most awful thing ever, hiding from the American public in secret dark rooms and whatnot, did they not even storm and delay one of these closed sessions because the idea or said hiding was so outrageous to them? And now the same people wouldn't contemplate anything but a closed session... amazing. They don't even try to have any consistency.

“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he's accusing me of is a Russian plant,” Biden said. “… Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he's saying is a bunch of garbage.

This is kind of where it all started when Biden debated Trump and was asked about this. A Russian plant Biden says...hmm...signed off on by our intelligence agencies...hmm...

"Joe Biden was aware of something his son did" is a real hot take as a possible impeachable offense.

And one we can be sure P01135809 will never be accused of.  Cool

For those who attempt to attack me personally or Fox news, rather pathetic your attempt to shut down opposing views or reporting news.

I reported a factual event, Comer is INVESTIGATING if the Biden team was involved in obstruction of justice by being involved in the HB not honoring his subpoenas.

Look closely, I never said Biden was guilty
, unlike the many in this forum that have declared Trump was guilty of Russian collusion and a host of partisan charges brought forth by the Biden DOJ.

Why I believe that you know that you are in a cult
by Forever Spinning Vinyl

You disregard any and all evidence that Trump is a criminal, call it a politically biased attack and then pledge even more support for him.

You come here with anything that sniffs of potentially leading to an investigation to find smoke. And why would you do this, when we all know for a fact that you would easily disregard this same flimsy evidence against Trump?

That answer is simple.

Was it not you who said this?  If that isn't saying Biden is guilty, I don't know what you are saying

Hunter is a victim, the victim of his father using him to be the front man for a Biden crime syndicate in my opinion. I ask again, why would these foreign countries pay Hunter Biden tens of millions of dollars, some of it when he was addicted to drugs?

You're not allowed to use someone's own words against them. In the Trump world, that is just unfair.
