I said after his second year it would be best if both sides moved on. Maybe a change of scenery is what he needed. Also it's May

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Cedric Ogbuehi taking first-team reps at RT for Jaguars

Unprompted, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo praised Ogbuehi’s work this week.

“Cedric Ogbuehi is moving really, really well right now and playing well,” DeFilippo said, via Daniel Popper of TheAthletic.com. “Guys like that, I don’t want to say surprised you because I saw what he did on tape. It wasn’t really surprising, but it’s been pleasant to see his athleticism.”

Everyone knows Og is a great athlete. This isn't saying anything anybody doesn't know.

His problem is he has no edge to his game and gives up too easily. Defillippo will see this soon enough.

I think they're using it to push the rookie Tackle they drafted too.

Vigil and Brown are solid enough. Pratt could be special. I know we all hope so. If they're looking good picking up on things, that's good news. At least we don't have a bunch of Jerome Simpsons who can't play because they can't learn the playbook. (Sorry, I know that's a pretty low bar.)
Today I'm TEAM SEWELL. Tomorrow TEAM PITTS. Maybe TEAM CHASE. I can't decide, and glad I don't have to.

I wouldn't sleep on Deshaun Davis either.... I just have a feeling he may turn into something special.

I hope so. He's probably my favorite pick in the draft, just because of his fire and leadership on and off the field. Expect to see him being very visible in the community, giving back. If you haven't heard about his back story there's a series of videos on Youtube.

Repeat this till the year 2059 n beyond. . The bengals look faster , playing faster , everyone excited , lines look aggressive, offense more explosive. This has been tradition since I first got internet in 1993.

Taylor will kick his ass to the curb...

Pratt can cover WR's on the edge man, he can definately cover RB's and TE's over the middle. He is a great tackler and has crazy speed and never gives up on a play, mad heart out there. I agree, Pratt could be very special.

Davis is really smart and has great instincts, hopefully this can make up for his lack of athleticism.

Vigil isn't trash?
He's not a super star, but he's definitely no Hardy Nickerson Jr.
I wouldn't knock a guy that averages about 8 tackles per game and of those 75% are solo tackles.

Before he got hurt, he was averaging almost 10 tackles per game with 84% solo and was ranked by PFF as 22nd best LB in the league.

I know that in Fantasy Football, Vigil was at the top of LB's in points per game early last season. Now whether that means he's a good LB can be debated.

I think as a #3 guy, he's pretty good. IF you cast him as the #1 LB...you're in trouble. But, he'll rack up points.

My concern with Brown is that he's too much of a run stopping plodding LB. Couple him with a cover guy and we're ok.

Our whole defense is basically going to be dependent on Pratt and Jefferson stepping up and not getting injured.

Vigil was starting to look pretty decent out there then all the injuries hit including to Vigil himself where he had to play injured. Also, look at the “players” we had out there with him - Nickerson is basically like having no LB and so is Evans. Add in Burflict was not himself to put it lightly and it looked frequently like Vigil was playing by himself out there.

Yeah Vigil will be ok.

Evans and Nickerson? I'm not so sure on.

I think Preston Brown will too.

Then, Pratt or Jefferson or Davis? need to produce. I think the 2nd LB we drafted was Davis right?

Davis, yes.

Always a chance they pick up a veteran guy closer to or during training camp, too. Either a current FA (meh) or someone else's cut (not as meh, maybe).

Evans and especially Nickerson need to be cut in the most public fashion possible as a message that play that poor is intolerable.

LMAO....I certainly hope you are in no form of leadership whatsoever. Public humiliation does nothing as far as sending a message other than the message that the person that did it a major ego issue.

To cut Jordan Evans at this point would go beyond ignorant. Evan is a young LB that has a really useful skillset. To judge him under the previous staff would make absolutely no sense. Rather he should be judged by the current staff under their criteria and how he fits what they want to do and so far it sounds like he fits what they are looking for and what they want to do.

Nickerson I think will eventually be cut due to the drafting of Deshaun Davis. Davis is most definitely a MLB candidate which is the position that Nickerson would be vying for. IMO Davis brings a better skill package to the table than Nickerson. However, the cutting of Nickerson should not be done as a public spectacle as you would suggest as he has done nothing wrong other than not having the God given talent that many NFL players have. Why would you attempt to embarrass him for that?

That would be my plan. I'd feel a lot better if they did that.

The Falcons a couple years ago played a bunch of rookies and 2nd year players on defense and it gelled towards the end of the year. So there's some chance what we have now works.

Yeah, but as the Patriots taught last year, you have to have one. Go with all light and fast backers, and teams will go into the power run game and run all over you.
