MSNBC went into the CA shooters house and displayed a huge lack of ethics

Ha!  I can blame them, when it's the Left that were the first to be noticed.  After all, the Left are the ones that are so anti-capitalism, and seem to enjoy the slow move toward Socialism.

Edit: My only thought is, "What are the folks in the media going to do, once they help lead the Nation toward Socialism?". They can't all expect to be included into the "elite" class that runs things, in a Socialist society.

So now they are breaking all those stupid rules of liberty the obviously guilty and Muslims should posses in their pursuit of the almighty dollar.  Looks like they're leaning right, now.  Look, didn't someone say Fox News pulled this crap too?

Blame them all you want.  All I want to do anymore is blame Americans for being so hooked on this 24 hour news cycle bs.

And all that I want is for Americans to realize that they are not insulated from terrorist strikes, and that non-American cultures hate them for the freedoms that they enjoy.  Americans should be reveling in the fact that so many gun owners (legal) would have been willing to defend in the situation that cost 14 lives.

Fact is: as a free Nation, we are a large collection of soft targets.  Sensible folks, legally able to purchase, and use firearms, should do so.

So everyone hates us because we're so free and awesome and despite having more guns than citizens we are a bunch of sitting ducks?  Well, people keep buying guns, so I guess victory is just around the corner.  What a relief.

More guns = perfect

Damn, I wish my family came here in the 20's and built a dynasty of selling guns.  Seriously.

We are not insulated, but what you state there is not why they hate us. That's the attitude resulting from the bullshit propaganda that has been forced down our throats since the Cold War in an effort to increase patriotism. The reasons for hating us are different for people. Many Europeans consider us superficial and ignorant, Jihadists think of us as hedonistic and imperialistic. It's not because of their jealousy towards our freedoms. Whoever says that is why they hate us is just trying to prevent us from taking a critical look at our country, and oftentimes taking a critical look is seen as unpatriotic. But in reality, criticizing our country in an effort to make it better is the most patriotic thing we can do, IMO. And until we can be honest with ourselves about why other cultures dislike us we're just a nation of asshats that will always be the focus of ire in the world.

They hate us for our freedoms is a nice slogan and good for pandering to a crowd during a political speech, but that isn't why they hate us.

If they really hate us for our freedom then right wingers should be happy we legalized gay marriage and really stuck it to those freedom haters, right?

I think you have this backwards.  Socialism guarantees everyone a decent quality of life.  Unregulated capitalism is the one that results in a very tiny majority controlling all the wealth with everyone else living in poverty.

The rubes are the middle class people who support unregulated capitalism.

Guarantees how?

Some interesting things from the link:
Your odds of being killed in a terrorist attack are 1 in 20 million.

You're safer now than you were in the 70s (at least as far as terrorist attacks go).

We're still the safest country (at least as far as terrorist attacks go).

And also, I disagree that non-American cultures hate us. That's a horrible and erroneous stereotype. There may be some groups that hate us, but you're talking about a few thousand people out of several billion.

And in the other thread you want to outlaw health insurance companies.  No wonder you hate progressives.  You're a fascist masquerading as a libertarian.

You should learn what a fascist is before you post.

And I am a libertarian conservative btw.

Progressives want things like health insurance or single payer. The true conservative position is to self insure.

I also think the same for property insurance as well. Especially when you live in dangerous areas.

How would you get rid of the health insurance companies?  Magic wand?  Pixie dust?  Govt over reach?

Both Capitalism and Socialism in their purest forms would fail.  In a purely socialist system there is not going to be as much innovation and advancement.  In a pure capitalist system you end up with more overall wealth, but a much larger portion of the citizens living in poverty due to economic oppression.

We need a capitalist economy, but it has to be well regulated by the government.

Rep.

They don't hate us for our freedom.  They hate us because we are so big and powerful that we think we can tell everyone else what to do.  They hate us because of our history of disposing popularly elected leaders and replacing them with dictators who support the interests of the United States.
