There is elite and then there is off the bottom rung.

Yep.  Finishing last in offense with the starting qb intact all year should be an automatic pink slip.

Lazor was an improvement over Zampese, but that's more an illustration of how far out of his depth KZ was than a credit to Lazor IMO.  This team, at the very least needs a total makeover on the offensive staff, save maybe Urban.

The basset hound from the Chiefs-Raiders commercial would be an improvement over Zampese.

Yeah, I can't really applaud this organization for going out of its comfort zone and firing him during the season when it was clear to all involved that the guy shouldn't have been an OC at all and we gave him 18 games to be one.

In the past, I would have agreed on Urban.  But now I have to ask what he's done with any of our receivers to deserve another chance?  Sweep him out too.

Why do people assume that things will be different when Mike isn't in control?

Let's fast forward 10-15 years.  Marvin is gone.  Mike is gone.  Who's running the show?  His daughter, Katie Blackburn.  The person Mike has been grooming for the role since he took over following Paul Brown's passing.  Do people really think that apple is falling far from the tree?  If Katie was so radically different than Mike in regards to how she felt the organization should be run, don't you think she'd be in his ear telling him that now?  Reports have said that Mike has given more control to her in recent years and yet here we are.  Guaranteed she's as power hungry and unwilling to spend as Mike.  So people can pray for the day that Mike Brown isn't at the top of the food chain anymore all they want, but they're ignorant if they think that will mean the Bengals FO will suddenly get on par with the Patriots and Steelers.

Or maybe he just says that to avoid the blame. More control?
