Chase will make the team, and is talented to make things happen.  Everyone trashing him for his poor play is well deserved, specially after the hideous Ross disaster. Last I checked Ross is injured there, too. (some players never change)

Chase will get more trashing, deservingly, if he gets the dropsies come game 1. Jamarr Ross is this current nickname until he changes it, hopefully by halftime in game one, everyone will be praising this swagg loving new member of the Cincinnati Bengals.   Tiger

Nothing tastes better than Bengal flavored crow so hopefully he changes the perception he has earned. I'm hesitant to believe it will magically happen week 1 but hopefully by seasons end.

We should only throw to him when we have a lead. The meltdown around here will be real when he causes us to lose a game with a  untimely drop. Hopefully coaches don't risk it by calling his number often when we need a play.

I am going to agree with you here. He is like Allen as the #2 QB, solid but not enough to get us to the next level.

You only list 52.  You are short one LB.

BTW I don't think we carry 6 LBs.

Not sure why Allen (Ricardo) is making so many peoples cuts.

What about our so called "great" QB?  He did not complete a single pass in a preseason game.

You want Zac to bench him also?

Math apparently isn't my strong suit.  WTS, I'd probably carry 5 LBs and throw in XSF in the 53rd spot.

1) No way we carry 2 kickers
2) XSF is starting at RG, he 100% makes the team
3) Spence is not a LB
4) No way we keep 6 edge guys. Well, I'll amend, if they think Ossai can get back, they might, but just for 1 day.

1. We'll see about the kickers..we did it last year. Now if someone wants to give up something for him...

2. Who do we lose to keep XSF? Very good chance Carman has jumped him

3-4: With the proposed 53 we only have 2 pure Edge guys (Spence/Hodge). All out other DEs are pure 4-3 DEs that can move inside on passing downs. I do believe we cut Spence but only for 1 day. The we put Ossai on IR and bring him back

At a glance, I don’t think any of those position groups look particularly weak. Maybe TE, but on paper that roster is pretty solid.

WTF LOL

Even Jerry Rice dropped passes. You can't see the forest for the trees. Have you ever heard of "player growth?" Or should we fire every coach with a loss, every back with a fumble... they just are not good enough.

I'd love to play fantasy football with you, that waiver wire.....

No way Ricardo was going to get cut. He is a solid vet Safety in the NFL, quality.

Love how he upended that Receiver of the Phins too. Ricardo can also play Corner in a pinch, valuable player.

Jerry Rice was on the bubble his rookie season very true, had the dropsies big time.

It’s funny to me that people went to two of the most extremes on both ends (Ross & Rice) in these comparisons. I’m sure Chase will end up being nowhere close to either. I like using Tee’s early season drop issues from last year as a better example of how this hopefully pans out. Now, he wasn’t nearly as bad as Chase is right now (he had 8 for the season), and ofc we didn’t even see him in a preseason, but he worked it out as time went on. IIRC they were mostly in the first half of the season.

I agree, just saying we cannot put much stock in these drops right now. If it continues well into the season I will be a bit concerned
but I bet he gets in together and calms down. Taking the year off has clearly affected him. He will get it together I am sure of it.

It's all good. I googled it.

As far as Chase is concerned, it will be a problem if he keeps dropping them throughout the start of the season but i don't see that happening when he starts accumulating snaps and gets back into 'real football'.

This final 53-man roster looks to be the best Zac Taylor has had. It’s not 2005/2009/2015 strong but it’s significantly better than the Bengals have had since the last playoff appearance. I believe we need to give props to the Front Office and coaches for being more active in free agency and making some smart draft picks.

We all know what this means: Zac and the coaches are on hot seats. If they can’t coach THIS team to at least 8 wins they should all be gone. Furthermore, if the Bengals start out 0-4 I would have some new coaches secretly interviewed and ready to take over at a moment’s notice. Those interviews should have been conducted already. This fan base is the most football-knowledgeable in the NFL and we can easily recognize the difference between laxative and lunch.
