***Official 2017 NFL Draft Day Thread***
Has Jon Toth been taken. I missed it if he was.

If our big misses are 5th and 6th rounders (not saying they are or aren't) then it's a pretty good draft haha.

So, the difference between Elliot and Gonzalez, as far as I can tell:

Elliot is automatic inside 30 and on extra points. Virtually automatic up to 49 yards. Had an absolutely awful sophomore year that hurt his percentages but, other than that year, was successful in the limited attempts beyond 50 yards. Never allowed a KR TD and is relatively good at touchbacks.

Gonzalez is generally successful inside 30 and on extra points, but did have some misses in each category. Has an absolute cannon for a leg, going 7-9 in 50+ attempts with a long of 59. As a senior, missed only one extra point and 2 50+ field goals in 25 total attempts. Definitely the hot hand, but struggled in his limited attempts at 50+ prior to his senior year (0-4) and 40-49 yard kicks (14-22), as well as missing 4 XPs as a freshman and sophomore.

If you are looking at just their senior years, Gonzalez seems to be the more reliable kicker, but in terms of their whole career, Elliot seems to be superior other than his uncharacteristically poor sophomore year.

I personally think I would have preferred Gonzalez, but I can live with Elliot if that's who the coaches preferred.

I would agree on picking Gonzalez over Elliot if the Bengals only played games in domes or in places with good weather.   Elliot has the range of Gonzalez - while being near perfect on all the kicks that can get you in trouble.
Oh, and Minter also is NOT Rey Maualuga 2.0. He is faster than Maualuga was and can actually play in cover. AZ did not rotate him out in nickel (he played over 88 percent of the defensive snaps each of the past two seasons) and he did his job. Remember Rey was so bad in coverage it was basically mandatory he come off the field on anything but obvious run downs.

Sorry Nate, Roullier went to Washington.

As to the kickers, we'll see. As to Dielman, they wanted to be sure not to pick a player who could push Bodine, because then they would have to admit Piano Man was wrong about an interior lineman yet again.

Nope, he's still available.
Toth, Orlosky, and Hodges still there.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Hodges would be pretty nice in the 6th round.

Man, the Patriots have been a ghost this draft.

They flat out said he is the best RB in the draft and although noting the issue also said we did our homework on Mixon. They even noted the number of interviews we did and such.

Of course they mentioned him being a good football player. What choice did they have? The tape doesn't lie. It was the snide remarks about it not being surprising the bengals were the ones that drafted him. It's the fact that mayock wouldn't even put the kid on his board, basically acting like he didn't exist. He didn't do that to Brantley. Did you hear any remarks about the browns organization taking a chance on Brantley? I'll help, the answer is no.

Huge difference in the way two very similar situations are being handled by the media.

Hodges gone to the vikings
Freaking Zimmer.
I can't believe Orlosky is available still.

Of course, I'm not a talent evaluator and my opinion is meaningless.

I get to the bathroom for 2 minutes and both of my pics are gone?

ESPN and Kiper will give them B (participation trophy) though they did little to help their team via the draft

Free Agency ain't over until it is over.

First 6 years BB - 41 wins and 54 losses with 1-1 playoff record with 2 teams Browns and Pats
I know the Bengals already drafted somewhat of a center but they should still take a chance on Orlosky. Oh, Gonzales is still available.
