Players that need more playing time
#21
Surprised no one has said Dax yet. I'd like to get him some reps so he has the chemistry with the DB room. Though, I do understand the risk having two rookies playing a bunch of snaps deep.

I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

I don’t think so, or he would’ve by now.

I definitely wish he would have earlier in the year but I'm not sure there's been any update on his injury or the timeline of when he's supposed to be back.

I was being sarcastic. That guy was lucky to hang on as long as he did in the league. I thought it was funny that some were still stumping for him when Tee Higgins was around... You know; an actual redzone threat.

Yeah I feel like I didn't see Ossai on the field much this game.

I saw he was rated as the worst 1st Rd pick. But I imagine that has more to do with his very limited play time. I do worry about as the heir apparent to Bates and not getting much playing time. I think while Bates doesn't make the splash plays that would get him that top safety money he affects the defense in more ways than we realize.

Well as others have said some before the season said Evans should take some of Perine’s but since his pass pro is near the top of all running backs and his play this season guess that’s not happening. At one point Dax Hill only has 47 snaps. That’s somebody for sure. Right now a lot of reserves have shown the staff knows their stuff. One things for sure the locker room is about as close as I’ve ever seen a team. It’s not fake.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I have it on good authority that Tate is basically Mike Williams 2.0.

He already has 178 snaps (28% of all defensive snaps) this year and only 1 sack. His problem has not been lack of playing time. His problem is not doing anything with the playing time to where you even notice he's in.

Kid is just coming back from knee injury. Remember Geno looked like crap the year following his surgery. Sometimes it takes a season for the player to get all the way back. Nothing in Ossai's history would lead us to the conclusion he is going to be anything other than a stellar pass rusher when healthy.

I'd be on board with this.  We need to find out what he's got.

Dax Hill so he can be ready when they face offenses like KC and Buffalo.  Not saying you bench Bates or Bell, but the three safety look could be employed against them in certain down and distance.  I trust Lou to do what he needs to, but since Hill has been injured, he hasn't had the chance.

I have never been a big fan of Treyveon Williams, but he played like a man possessed against pitt.  Maybe a part of the rotation if Evans is still injured?

He was injured, I haven't seen any updates.

Interesting guy, Wilson.  He played some RB in college and is a special teams demon, but sucks ass as a safety.  I would rather see Tyson Anderson get some chances.

Interesting as he only got like 7 snaps against pitt.  I guess Hendrickson and Hubbard didn't want to come off the field???  Didn't see him on any injury report, either.

Evans averaged 26.6 yards per return his first 6 games running it back. I'm not saying he looked worse or won't be successful but Evans averaged 4.5ypc last year. That's not to mention the receiving aspect he brings.

He got stuffed at the LOS on a play that wasn't blocked up but had an 8 yard carry that he almost broke for a score in the red zone that didn't blow me away, but got me interested.  That was tied the longest carry of the game by any Bengal's RB.

Problem is, buddy, that he is rarely healthy.  He will always be the player we took over my guy, Spencer Brown, until he starts to contribute in regular season games.

But your point about the knee injury is valid.  Odd that he only had a meniscus tear, and not an ACL, though.  It must have been a bad one?

And oh crap can't think of his name? That TE back like 08? The training camp hero that season. I'm gonna look it up - Chase Cofman lol

I don't disagree and really hope he turns out to be a stud next year (or the rest of this year) if the injury is whats still holding him back a bit this year.

Although the thread is about people who should get more playing time and 28% for, I would assume, someone considered a pass rush specialist is already pretty significant playing time. We do certainly need something/someone to help out the passrush though.
